Ever so slightly hazy and thick-looking bronze and copper coloured body with a thinnish, two centimetre just off-white head on top. Aroma of rich alcohol, pine, earthy malts, a lot of alcohol, some citrus and floral notes, but this is all about the dank and assertively bittered hops throughout - in a good way. Medium to Full-bodied; Super rich malty flavour with a good dose of candy sugar right behind showing some citrus, pine, dank hops, resin and a lot of grapefruity notes, but the body from the malt and pungency from the alcohol reigns surpreme here with a deep kick from the hops, but the alcohol, warmth and pungency from the astringency all beat out the hop bitterness. Aftertaste is deep and robust with the resin and grapefruit notes the strongest, but a lot of malt here as well to support the other pungent flavours. Overall, a nice and robust Imperial IPA with a ton of flavours that work quite well together and provide a good balance while showing tons of complexities for the style. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can purchased from Greenville Beer Exchange in Greenville, South Carolina on 31-May-2018 for US$3,24 sampled at home in Washington on 02-July-2018.

Can from Craft Brewed. Pours a clear, deep gold with a finger of off-white head that lingers, then dissipates. Great lacing all the way down. Nectarine and apricot nose with sweet malt aromas. More nectarine and citrus alongside toasted caramel, honey and bitter tea leaf notes. Soft carbonation, bitter resin pine. Lingering bitter finish. Alcohol hidden well, but just not fun or really enjoyable.

Bottle. Cloudy orange pour with a creamy, dense white head. The aroma is sweet juicy malt and citrus. The flavor is sweet on the front end, with bitter following with a sweet finish. Not cloying, but sweeter than my personal ideal for a IIPA.

Big and boozy, malt-forward without a whole lot of the hops the description flouts. Pour is absolutely amazing, hazy gold on top of ample head and prolific foam lattice. Nose comes across a bit mild for the style, nothing outstanding yet still giving up some notes of dank citrus hops. Taste seems off, though, sweet caramel mixing with a biscuit-tinged middle, the hops adding orange and grapefruit but not enough to stand out. Finishes weak, sweet without much piney hop resinous, not bitter, not citric, not anything, really. Good texture, slick with no trace of booze. Doesn’t help, though. Just a dull DIPA.

16oz can from Common Market pours a lightly hazy orange with some sticky, clumpy, white head. Nose has orange, grass, paper, perfume, a little guava. Flavor is solid, sweet with honey and tropical fruit, mostly guava but mango too, grassy, lime, lemon, tangerine. Finishes bitter, mostly full bodied but fairly smooth too.
