Slightly hazy golden color with a medium white head that dissipates steadily to a film. Short strings of lace. Aroma of grassy hops, citrus and malt. Medium body with flavors of spicy hop, bready malt and citrus. The finish is mildly bitter with a lingering grassy hop aftertaste. Above average overall.

Ever so slightly hazy golden coloured body with a thinnish, very fast-dying off-white head. Aroma of alcohol, light malt, apples, pungent grassy hops, a touch of resin and a bit of biscuits and graham crackers. Medium-bodied; Earthy and floral flavours at first with a larger, noticeable malt presence with biscuits, crackers and grain with a lot of lager yeast and more assertive bittering flavours on the finish, showing some strong pine, grass, flowers and apple/fruit flavours right behind. Aftertaste is a bit complex with the malt and grain showing up front and centre with some apples, fruit, alcohol and bitterness right behind. Overall, a nice beer with a lot of qualities, especially as a lager at 8,0%, and drinking it fresh. I sampled this 75 cL corked and caged bottle purchased from The Perfect Pour in Elk Ridge, Maryland on 22-November-2016 for US$11,99 sampled at home in Washington on my youngest daughter’s second birthday party on 08-January-2017.

750 ml bottle into tulip glass, best before 2/5/2017. Pours slightly hazy/cloudy golden amber color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big lemon, grapefruit, orange peel, peach, melon, pepper, pine, cracker, biscuit, light honey, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and moderate pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big lemon, grapefruit, orange peel, peach, melon, pepper, pine, cracker, biscuit, light honey, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate pine/herbal/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, lemon/orange peel, peach, melon, pepper, pine, cracker, biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and moderate pale malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and no astringent hop flavors after the finish. Nice dryness from carbonation and bitterness as well. Very clean on lager flavors with zero yeast notes present. Medium-high carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, crisp, moderately sticky, and lightly grainy/creamy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a light warmth lingering after the finish. Overall this is an excellent imperial pilsner style. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and moderate pale malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and easy to drink for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

0.75 litre cork and caged bottle, shared with my son on 19th May 2016 while on holiday in California. Clear golden pour, until the sediment moved during the second pour (my glass) and clouded the colour, white head that tried to linger. Malty front with a semi-bitter hop finish with a mild citrus feel. OK.

750 ml bottle, corked and caged. Brassy gold color topped by a huge foamy white head. Interesting earthy malt nose has hints of hay and sweet grain. Flavor is sweet grainy malt and spicy citrus hops. Some plastic-like notes as well. Hops are ever present here. High alcohol (8% ABV) is hardly noticeable. Overall, a tasty brew.

750 c&c from Bine & Vine. Pours gold with a foamy white head. Aroma is very suggestive of white grape (definitely not Concord!), and grass. Backed by very light breadiness. It’s a marvelous smell. Med body or better. Flavor is very light, pale malt with a good deal of spice and grass, with hints of herb and citrus. To an extent the overall impression made me think of drying hay. It’s nicely bitter, but not strongly so. Not the hop bombs of some Imp Pils from days of yore. Sort of a relaxed thing. I’d really like a couple of bottles at the lake in summer. Might be a nice substitute for May Wine. :)

Clear golden yellow with off-white head on the draft version, hazy yellow with off-white head on the cask. Aromas of lemon lime citrus, floral notes. Tastes of floral notes, wheat, hay, citrus. Cask adds some light biscuity and yeasty notes. Medium body with a dry finish.
