A special Imperial Amber Ale brewed in remembrance of a great grandmother. Late last month, Barbara Lanier gave up her ghost and the impact of her time here on Earth will not soon be forgotten by the many who loved her. A fiery Irish spirit who imparted deep values of dedication to family and love, “Ma” was certainly one of a kind. This beer mirrors her spirit with sharp, flavorful notes of resin, pine, and citrus, backed up by a rich caramel base and a medium body. A very special release and available for the first time on St. Patrick’s Day Weekend. Drink to honor “Ma” and reflect on those recently lost, but never to be forgotten. If not, you’ll get the paddle.

Treehouse Ma Amber Ale 6.8% A nice amber-red-brown that is a bit murky with a thick head of beige foam. The aroma gives you a malty peppery character (rye?) as well as the classic treehouse juicy hoppiness though a touch subdued. The medium bodied beer is incredibly balanced and grows on you with the hazy juicy thing taking a back seat. A really nice amber. 3.7 ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

16 oz. can in a trade with Chalumeaux. Deeper red in color. Flavor is basically a standard amber with a slightly elevated profile and a deeper malt backing. Mild fruit, weak pine, earthy notes. Good

Pours a muddy, copper-brown, with smallish head. Aroma of roasted grain and citrus hops. Flavor is fruity, with citrus and tropical notes, as well as some malty sweetness and roasted grain. Really, really good. One of the best amber ales I've come across.

Canned 10/21/16, drunk 11/5/16.
Moderately hazy amber body though not intensely soupy or anything. Off-white, small head with moderate retention.
Wonderful IPA-like Tree House treatment in the nose full of watermelon, lime and even some sprucy, spicy pine notes. Juicy, of course and clean with strong minerality and no alcohol or flaw.
In the mouth it’s full of the strong watermelon juiciness. Light lemon-lime-like acidity easily balances things and the texture is very soft, with faint caramel-like sweetness and a bit of graininess/breadiness. Engaging carbonation, strong attenuation and no alcohol or flaw with a touch of lingering sticky caramel and long citrus and juice notes.
