Many thanks to kappldav123 for this bottle. Smooth grainy beginning. Hints of dusty yeast, grain with a malty sweetness. Easy to drink, slightly grainy with malty sweetness. Soft, fruity malty, easy tod rink with a bit of sticky maltiness in the end.

Drunk at the brewery in Amberg. Yeasty aroma with coffee and cacao. Flavor has coffee, cacao, cola and banana. A bit thin. Some roasted malt and just a hint of smokiness detected.

“Schloderer Rauchzartes Dunkel“, Flasche (50 cl) per Post von Mein-Biershop.de. - Tiefes Kupferrotbraun, gut trüb. - In der Nase warmes, leicht röstiges Toast- und Karamelmalz mit hintergründiger hopfenwürziger und mild orangenfruchtiger Herbe. - Antrunk weich und füllig toastmalzig mit Karamel, Nuß und ein wenig Zitrusfrucht. Milde aber tiefgründige erdige Hopfenherbe mit leicht ranzigem Stich. Milder rezent, vollmundig, hefig weich im Mund. Erst im Abgang eine leichte Rauchnote, die aber nicht über ein gewisses Hopfendefizit im dünnen Abgang hinwegtäuschen kann. - Eigenwilliges Dunkles mit wenig hervortretender Rauchigkeit aber kein richtiges Rauchbier, auch ein wenig unrund.

Bottle from mein-biershop.de. Hazy dark amber/brown/reddish colour, creamy beige foam. Nose of caramel, dried berries, sweet malts, smoke. Smoke is very subtle. Taste is a bit unbalanced. Ok beer but nothing more.

Bottle. Pours brown with beige head. Aroma is sweet, malt, smoke, cocoa. Flavor is sweet and bitter, malt, some smoke, touch of bacon, wood. Body is watery. Overall: ok.

Many thanks for this beer to kevnic2008. Piwo ma srednia lecz trwala pianke, barwa rubinowo ciemno-czerwona. Naturalny osad po dolaniu zmienia kolor na sliwkowo-brazowa. Zapach octowo drzewny, calkiem nawet przyjemny. w smaku wysuszone drewno, troche wegla drzewnego, karmel i lekka palonosc slodu, nieco kwaskowe, chmielnosc srednia do malej ale ostatecznie robi sie wytrawnie na podniebieniu. Dobre, choc liczylem na wiecej nut wedzonych. Jakosc odleglosc miedzy Bambergiem, a miejscowoscia Amberg robi roznice.

Draft at the bierstuberl in Partenkirchen. Very slightly hazy maroon brown, tan ice cream cone head. Aroma of cocoa and burnt toast, sourdough brownies. Taste is raw brownie dough dipped in cocoa. Our favorite of four dunkels in the region that day. Delicious.

Bottle shared on the train from Sulzbach Rosenberg to Nuremberg during the Bamberg Jolly, January 2014. Pours clear red-gold with a creamy off-white head. So so stuff. Sweet, with toasty bread, light dough, toffee. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Dry bread in the finish, some leaves, dried berries. Overall, not bad. (3.5)
Draft at the brewpub in Amberg during the Bamberg Jolly, January 2014. Pours clearish brown with a frothy, beige head. The nose holds light tangy, semi-dark fruits. Moderate sweetness, earth, toffee, bread and berries. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Sweet finish, some toast, light leaves. Meh, so so. (2.9)

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein dunkelbraunes Bier mit geringer aber schönen Schaumkrone. Geruch leicht röstmalzig, Karamell, minimal würzig, rauchig. Bamberg bash day 1 - 24/1/14. Bottle shared on train. Aroa is smoked nuts, sweet caramel and some christmas pud. Caramel / chestnut colour with a greyish head that lasts. Flavour is nutty praline, choc and light smoke. Sticky caramel palate, Tasty enough.

Draught at the brewpub in Amberg. Bamberg Jolly Day 1. 24/01/14. Clouded dark brown mahogany pour with a lasting off white head. Aroma is wood, raisin and light smoked malt. Flavour is wood, treacle, smoked wood char. Somewhat sweet raisin in the finish. Medum full body, medium carb.
