Kasteel Cuvée echoes the flavour profile of a ten-year-old Kasteel Donker. Starting with the characteristic malt aroma, there are recognisable accents of caramel, sultanas, figs, spices and candied fruits. On the palate, the fruity notes, reminiscent of port or madeira, start to kick in. Finally, the finish provides a subtle hoppy bitterness, complemented by hints of fruit
and aniseed.

0.33 l bottle from 'Craftbeershop.com', as 'Kasteel Cuvée', best before February 2030. Clear, very dark ruby with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, gently yeasty-spicy, slightly fruity and a little vinous aroma of molasses, caramel, raisins, prunes, marzipan and light chocolate. Quite sweet, malty, moderately bitter, gently yeasty-spicy, moderately fruity and a bit roasty taste of molasses, caramel, chocolate, raisins, prunes, marzipan and traces of overripe banana, followed by a medium long, moderately bitter, a little warming finish. Full body, smooth and gently effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Rich, complex brew, a pleasure to drink when it gets colder outside.
