Pours clear amber into a shaker. White head crackles and quickly recedes to nothing. Honey and agave aromas. Soft with warm chili and sweet agave upfront turning to hot pepper skin in the lasting finish. Spice is nice, rest is lacking.

Bottle shared at the 10th Annual Epic & Unusual Beer Tasting, 11/29/15. Hazy copper, thin head, fair retention. Aroma of caramel, agave, toasted malt. The taste is caramel, agave, lime zest, hints of peppers. Medium bodied, a little lacking on the peppers.

(Thanks, Gene! "Travlr") Bottle. A- Peppers, chilies. A- Amber orange color, hazy liquid, minimal head. T- Chilies, subtle heat, very subtle sweetness. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, slightly spicy finish. O- Not really my thing. Okay for what it is. The chilies are pretty pronounced and could use a touch more of sweetness or a bigger caramel malty backbone.

Treated as an amber lager, this was poured into a pilsener glass.
The appearance was a moderately ruddy brown with a slight transparency about it. Fizzy and bubbly head quickly dissipated leaving no lacing.
The smell starts off with the normal sweet breadiness associated with amber lagers and then a tame sweet sticky fruitiness (guessing that’s the agaves, but doesn’t show enough strength to really show it).
The taste was basically the same adding in a slight tame dry \"chili\" heat to gloss over into the aftertaste and slide into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a decent sessionability about it. Luckily, the \"heat\" doesn’t apply too much on my tongue and yet the syrupy part isn’t overbearing.
Overall, I see the bottle is dated June 2015, and am wondering if it would be way better fresh which is when I’d try it again.

12.7 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 9/13/15, 7.7% ABV, Bottled June 2015.
It is orange-amber in color without much head or lacing. The chili presence here is noticeable, but not overpowering, which keeps the beer much more balanced and drinkable than a lot of other chili beers I have tried. Caramel malt on the aroma and flavor. A bit of bread. Very balanced through the early and middle parts of the palate, with the heat / spice coming through as it rolls through the close, and continues on to a long lasting spicy tingle. Light-medium bodied. Some light vegetal tones come out as it warms, which are more reminiscent of green peppers than anything else. I enjoyed what they did here. I just had a hot pepper beer a few weeks ago that lacked the restraint that is clearly present here.

Draft at Earth Eagle on a guest tap. Pint glass shows Amber color with some light lasting head. Aroma is earthy malt, agave and the faintest hint of pepper.

The body is medium with a slightly sticky texture, the agave is unmistakable. This is a good thing because it keeps the heat of the pepper at a lower level. The chili pepper is only found mildly in the finish. Not sure but my friend even said that the pepper was mild. I’m not a huge fan of chili pepper in my brews but this was still drinkable for me.

Bottle from the brewery shop, thanks to Todd for hooking me up! Deep amber color with a decent sized but short lived bubbly white head. Clean caramel maltiness with a faint spicy earthy aroma. The flavor is sweet and a bit cloying up front, but the spice of the chili peppers cuts through that like a hot knife through butta! Light earthy flavor, little to no hops to be found and a lingering spicy pepper on the palette long after each sip. I couldn’t drink a lot of this but I love the peppery spice and heat.
