33cl bottle from a trade with benzai, thanks! A slightly hazy golden beer with a mid-sized most good lasting off-white head. Aroma of dry grainy malt, grassy hops, pale malt. Taste of dry mild grassy hops, straw, pale malt, medium bitterness, okay!

0.33 l bottle from ’Wijnhuis Blerick’, best before August 2018. Clear, golden amber with a large, fluffy, slowly diminishing, white head. Sweetish, floral, slightly grassy and a bit fruity aroma of grains, straw and some pineapple. Slightly sweetish, moderately bitter, quite dry, grassy, slightly floral and a bit fruity taste of grains, straw, pineapple and some apples, followed by a short, moderately bitter, grassy-dry and minimally yeasty finish. Thin to medium body, very effervescent mouthfeel, lively carbonation. Decent beer, a bit unround and rough, too much carbonation.

Draft @ Oirschots Bierfestival. Golden color, with a light haze. White head. Aroma’s: fruity, grainish. Retronasal it’s fruity, sweetish. Flavor is light malty sweet, light fruity. Light bodied. Light bitter finish.

Tasted blindly with Dr. Beer / Black glassware. Smell is rather intense, very floral, mild fruity, very fresh. Fairly complex. Touch of pale malts, some yeastyness. Crust of white bread. Taste is bitter, some pale malts. Bit dry, some fruity notes. Towards the full side of mouthfeel. High carbonation, some fruity notes ( apples pop into mind ) some alcohol heat in the mouth, but not in the throat. Perhaps this is boosted by the carbonation? I’d say high fermentation because of the high carbonation, and more full mouthfeel, but it is very light and crisp on the other hand. ---- note --- as we were going for style recognition, we couldn’t have picked a worst example for zwickl. If you read the BJCP style guidelines, this does not match up with any of it. We had an overcarbonated beer, whilst zwickl should have no to low carbo, etc. OK beer; but a terrible example of the style.
