Bottle split at the sleepy-rapping tasting at Ronny & Alex’s pad, CBC fine tuner, 30/04/15. Rich black with a decent tan covering. Nose is light roast, charr, spice, chocolate, biscuit, toffee, dark fruits. Taste comprises chocolate, dark malt, spice, toffee fudge, dates, fruit cake. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Lacks depth for the style but a drinkable number none the less.

Bottle@Ronny and Alex pre cbc tasting #2 - black pour with tiny brown head. Dark roasted and sweet malty aroma and taste with some chocolate, coffee, dark fruits, some burnt sugar, vanilla subtle nuances. Very good!

Malty sweet roast with a bit of an odd citrus bite. I have always enjoyed Czar with more age on it.

Svart med høyt lys brunt skum. Lukter kaffe, mørke bær og salt lakris. Søt fruktig, lett kaffe, kakaobønnebitter med noe salt lakris og søtt i avslutningen.

(Bottle sample at tasting, VilleValla Pub, Linköping, Jan 26 2015) Pours a very deep brown black with a moderate lingering tan head with little lace. Aroma has a strong marzipan note, dark malt, brown sugar, light molasses, slight creaminess and nuts. Palate has loads of brown sugar and marzipan, with a bit of roast and dates as well. Drying a bit towards the finish with a little alcohol dryness and almond bitterness. Maybe a bit of nutty hoppy stuff. Fairly light bodied and watery for style with light carb. Just never really kicks off, quite light for an imperial stout and feels like it needs more of everything.

Bottle at VilleValla Pub. Opaque black liquid with a medium tan head. Aroma of dried fruit, almonds, pumpernickel, light high alcohols and light red berries. Taste is light to medium sweet and light to medium bitter with notes of dried fruit, pumpernickel and raisins. Medium to full bodied with low to medium carbonation. Decent but some high alcohols and body could be thicker.
