Taking the very best barrels from our library and blending beer aged between 1 and 3 years in the barrel for a truly Gueuze-inspired beer.
The Blend is an expression of what we do and why we do it. This is a celebration of our love affair with wild yeast, sour beers, slow maturation, barrel-ageing and blending.
Inspired by Belgian Gueuze-style beers, we have blended together carefully selected sour beers from our barrel library, and used all of our experiences from the last five years to create the 2017 vintage.
We put a 10 year best before date on our bottles as the wild yeasts will continue to age this blend adding complexity and depth. Nobody knows what it will taste like in 10 years time or how long it will be age for after that so buy one to drink now and one to get dusty on your top shelf!

20th Aug 2019, monthly Shrewsbury Beer Exchange, Chez Sophie. Cheers Paolo for this 0.75 litre bottle. Poured a misty yellow with a white crown. It's a sour-puss and reminded me of those 'Sherbet Dips' I had as a child.

Bottle, 0.75l, courtesy of Marko, shared with colleagues. Aroma of grape skin, citrus, faint tropical fruit, white wine and barnyard. Pours hazy dark yellow color with thin quickly dissipating head and average sparkling appearance. Taste starts light sweet and sour grainy, vinous, yeasty and citrusy, following is woody, earthy and a bit funky, while mouthfeel is crisp and rather dry. Light body, thin texture and lively carbonation in palate. Blend for THE Company...

Sample from 75 cl bottle. Clear pale golden colour with a thin white head. Tart fruity aroma with lemons, wooden notes and fruits. Taste is sour. Medium body with a creamy texture and an average carbonation. Finishes tart fruity. Excellent.

Bottle. Beer Ritz online. Grassy gold. Soft haze. Barely a head. Nose has oxidised apple flesh. Feta like, cheesy funk. Damp wood. White wine dregs. Some ripe summer fruit wriggling around in the background. Taste is where any sourness kicks in, coming across sharp and citric, tempered by an oaky sweetness. Sits light and fairly dry on the palate. Fine and crisp carbonation. Decent balance of oak sweetness and tangy sourness to finish. Typically good.

Dan's Stag. Wild Beer taproom. Keg. Almost clear gold beer, no head. Palate is light and mildly minerally crisp. Thin malts. Lemon sherbet, very mild acid. Trace of red wine on the backend. Crisp finish. Quite approachable and drinkable.

Slight haze in the yellow colour, not much head to talk about. Tart green apple, lemon, lambicness in the nose. Light-bodied. Mouthpuckering tartness, then earthyness, apple, wood, citrus in the flavour. Finish has light fruity tartness. Whitewineous. Ok.
