Frambozschella is the result of the blend of different beers fermented with lactic bacteria and yeasts. It is enriched with beer aged in barrels in the presence of Brettanomyces, a wild yeast that gives a touch of rusticity. The blend is then left to macerate on raspberries for a certain period of time.

Not as good as I was thinking it might be. Basically it’s a malty tart beer with raspberries, end of story.

Tap at Julian’s, Providence. It pours clear deep ruby - red with minimal head. The nose is fresh raspberry, cherry bakewell tart, jammy fruits, almond and Victoria. The taste is crisp, tart, juicy raspberry, woody raspberry pip, good mouth - pucker, some acidity, jam, green apple, lemon sherbet and sour candy with some raspberry on the finish. Medium body, fine carbonation and slightly sticky mouth - feel. Not a whole load of depth, but rather pleasant anyhow.
