Bottle from Signal Variety, Plaistow NH. Aroma is slightly grassy and malty. Transient, insignificant head with clear reddish brown color. Taste is lightly sweet maltiness but is overridden by carbonation that stings the tongue. Not a terribly strong taste but much more enjoyable after you let the beer sit in the class for a while and lose some fizz. Medium body otherwise with pleasant finish (once the carbonation is allowed to die down).

Honey and barley malt nose, dried leaves. Clear orange, medium head, modest lacing. Honey and cereal grain. Medium body, easy carbonation. Nice balance and pleasant intensity for a lager. Impressive offering from Shiner.

Bottle from Harvest Market. Clear golden color decent white head. Rich sweet bready pilsner with a light metallic sharpness. Earthy hop bite not rich and malty enough for the style. I could drink these, but there are much better examples of the style out there.

Pretty foul in the best of estimations. Pours orange with OK head and lacing. Very off tasting astringency here. Some malt. Avoid.

This was poured into a mug.
The appearance was a glossy brown color with a thin white foamy head that dissipated within a light foamy lacing.
There was a deep sweet dark malt going on in my nose.
The taste was extremely sweet and malty, caramel malts and a bready / biscuity arrangement persisted.
On the palate, this sat about a light to medium on the body with a slight sessionability about it. The carbonation was slightly there but still mainly light. The carbonation was somewhat subdued.
Overall, decent for the style, and not bad to me, would I have again, perhaps....

New Beer Distributors, NYC 12 ounce ($2): Pours light amber with a white head. Aroma is caramel malt with barely any hops. Taste is a nice malty fest taste. No grain, little hops, just smooth caramel malts that don’t go to sweet. I feel like this is what people thought an ideal beer was like 50 years ago.

At a tasting, thanks Yoav, clear light rusty orange colour, no head, melange of dried fruits - figs, raisins, carobs and a hint of dates, also earthy hint, flavour of strawberry jam, some sour bread, light coarse bitterness. Not good.
