Bottle sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel. Thanks Yoav. Clear amber. Aroma of malt, caramel, sugary notes and light fruitiness. Sweetish flavor, caramelly, with some fruitiness, slightly candy-ish, and mild bitterness in the finish. Medium-bodied.

Pours clear, pale, copper..short, whipped, off-white head. Aroma is barley malt, caramel, bread. Taste is caramel, light toast, grain.... Fairly plain, but I give it points for being a pretty decent effort from Shiner. Not bad.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before 10/23/2012. Pours slightly hazy golden copper color with a nice 2 finger fairly dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty foamy lacing clings to the glass. Aromas of big pear, apple, caramel, apricot, toast, bread, light pepper, and light herbal. Nice and pleasant aromas with solid strength and balance. Taste of caramel, pear, apple, toast, biscuit, toffee, light nuttiness, and light earthy herbal spiciness. Minimal bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of light fruits, caramel, toast, toffee, biscuit, and earthy herbal on the finish for a bit. Some pretty nice flavor balance and robustness; with zero cloying flavors present after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a creamy and lightly slick mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a good Oktoberfest style. Very solid flavor balance and robustness; and very smooth to drink. I enjoyed this quite a bit.

From a 12 oz bottle. Pours medium gold with a white head. Malty aroma. Hints of cherries in an otherwise non-descript flavor.

Sample at GABF 10/11/2012, thanks to Bluemeow76 for assistance with note-taking. Clear copper-orange color with a thin white head and spotty lacing. Aroma of malt, caramel and a bit of hops. Light body with a sweet caramel malt character and mild hops in the background. The finish is sweet and malty. Just average overall.

Considerably better than I expected. Copper color. Light malt aroma and more malt in the flavor, low hop profile of course, and appropriately sweet malt and grain flavor.

Has a good clean aroma. Looks clean and brown orange. Good sizzle. Seems to be more than the 6% listed here. Yes, a little forward on theh taste. Strongish malty medicine. Finish is same, nice presentation but a little rude on the palate. After I drink it for awhile I think I smell some tomato inthe aroma and the taste becomes a little more acceptable.
