A Braggot, historically a harmonious blend of mead and beer, gained notice during medieval times and dates back as far as the 12th century. The combination of three unique honeys and the complexity of the hops and chamomile in this braggot style beer create a whimsical brew that is floral with a tart sweetness and a much awaited honey finish. Praise to the queen bee and her colony for this refreshing and satisfying brew.

Bottle. Honey, earthy malt, and light chamomile aroma. Hazy golden yellow with minimal head. Sweet honey and light malt flavor. Body on the light side. Nothing bad - straight forward without anything that jumps out to me.

Bottle: Pours slightly hazed, honey-gold with a small, fast, off-white head. Slightly smoky honey aroma. Taste is mild, slightly spicy, honey, light fruit. Sweet and smooth, but nothing that stands out....OK, but rather uninspired.

650 ml bottle, from Costco, Sacramento, ABV is 7.5%. This braggot appears to be more of a beer than a mead. Golden colour, small white head. Brewed with clover honey, orangeblossom honey and chamomile, with alfalfa honey added (probably after fermentation). Sweetish aroma of honey, orange blossom and chamomile, some alcohol. Fairly sweet flavour, but still rather light bodied for its strength. Honey and chamomile notes. A slight alcohol sting. Very moderate hops. Well worth sampling, but not really my cup of tea.
