Hardywood Rum Pumpkin combines the nostalgic flavors and aromas of autumn with a soul warming, blackstrap molasses laced finish that can only be achieved through months of maturation in Caribbean dark rum barrels. Pleasantly mellow up front with a crescendo of pumpkin pie spice giving way to subtly sweet, lingering brown sugar and spiced rum notes, this beer might just bring new meaning to Thanksgiving.

Poured from bomber 2013 thanks Willrunforbeer....whalz son! Pours hazy brown orange with a thin lacey head. Aromas of pumpkin spice brown sugar vanilla and oak. Taste is mildly sweet with notes of oak caramel and spice. There is a nice balance between the rum and the spices. A nicely crafted beer worth the wait. --- Beer merged from original tick of Rum Barrel Pumpkin on 07 Sep 2015 at 18:41 - Score: 8

Location: 750 ml bottle from my Dad,10/10/14
Aroma: The nose is pumpkin spice, cinnamon, some rum, brown sugar, vanilla, oak, and dough
Appearance: It pours a lightly hazy orange color with a lasting head and some solid lace work
Flavor: Flavor-wise, the rum barrel comes out more, pumpkin flavors are underneath, but present
Palate: The body is medium-plus, there's a bit of heat on the finish but it doesn't overpower
Overall Impression: I've been sitting on this one for a minute, I figured some age wouldn't hurt it. I thought it was excellent. The rum is more present in the flavor than the nose, but the vanilla/oak are a little more present in the nose. Really liked how the barrel aging worked here. Another excellent Hardywood offering.

750ml bottle pours a clear, dark orange with a ring of white head. Nose of booze, spice, nail polish, clove, cinnamon. Flavor is sweet and boozy, cardamom, cinnamon, vanilla, nutmeg, sweet caramelized root veg, booze. Rummy, sweet finish.

Got a nice pour from a 750ml bottle thanks to my buddy Bruce. Thanks! Poured a nice, dark orange color with a small white head. Aroma was plenty of rum, oak, vanilla notes, with a solid base of their pumpkin beer - nutmeg, vanilla, cinnamon. Flavor was pretty smooth - with a touch of booze from the rum that permeates the mouth. The rum is a nice touch, and a little strange since most people would have just tossed this into a whiskey or bourbon barrel instead.
