440ml can. Pours black with a thin tan head. Aroma of chocolate, dates, vanilla. Taste is very sweet, chocolate, dates, vanilla, roast malts, treacle, molasses, a bit of alcohol warmth. Full bodied, smooth. Quite heavy on the dates/syrupy sweetness towards the end but really nice.

Can from House Of Trembling Madness. Black body with a tan head. No visible carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of date, prune and caramel. Flavour of tangy dates, prune and toffee. Medium body with a slick mouthfeel. Soft fizz. I think this is decent but they went a bit heavy handed with the date puree as it’s the dominating flavour.

Keg at CBJ. Opaque dark brown beer, tidy dark tan head. Airy smooth palate, a mild viscosity, good fine minerally carbonation. Airy dark malts, a mild dark malt cream, good chocolate, both milk and dark. Mild roast and some decent fruitiness on the back end. Nicely rounded and drinkable.

Thin brown collar on a near black oil slick.
Malt, chocolate & toffee aroma.
Medium to full bodied, super smooth with a clean back.
Aniseed, dark spirits, blueberry & chocolate tastes with a tangy finish.
Lovely sipper.

Keg at Craft Beer Junction. Inky darkness. Foamy tan head. Sweet caramel with a bitter cocoa streak. Flavourwise it's the same. Thick. Oily. Soft-fizzy. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Big Sweet presumably Impy.

Big and pretty sweet. Some dark fruits, berries, cherry-covered chocolate, low roast, low booze. Decent balance. Velvety. Roasted marshmallows. Rather drinkable.

Keg at Craft Beer Junction, 10/12/2025
Black with a tan cap that retains.
Nose is chocolate, dark malts, vanilla, mellow roast.
Taste comprises chocolate, mellow roast, toffee fudge, molasses, brown sugar melt.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, drying close with a lick of booze.
Tidy enough old skool sipper but I perhaps expected a touch more here.
