Bottle. A- Slight funk, apricot puree, grassy. A- Orange color, cloudy liquid, minimal head. T- Slight funk, mild bitterness, sour, apricot. P- Light body, creamy texture, average texture, slightly astringent finish. O- Lots of apricot and doesn't really get sour until it warms up a bit. Almost like a smoothie or apricot mimosa. A bit off tasting on the finish, but not bad.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled in 5/2017. Pours very hazy pale golden/yellow color with a 1-2 finger foamy and fluffy white head with solid strength, that reduces to a thin spotty lace cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big tart/juicy/tangy apricots, lemon, lime, tangerine, peach, fruit skin, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, grapefruit, guava, green apple, citrus peel, peppercorn, hay, straw, herbal, floral, grass, wheat, and cracker; with lighter notes of leathery/musty funk, oak, pine, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity fruity/funky/spicy yeast, citrus/tropical hops, apricots, and light-moderate pale malt/oak notes; with great strength. Taste of big tart/juicy/tangy apricots, lemon, lime, tangerine, peach, fruit skin, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, grapefruit, guava, green apple, citrus peel, peppercorn, hay, straw, herbal, floral, grass, wheat, and cracker; with lighter notes of leathery/musty funk, oak, pine, and yeast earthiness. Moderate peppery yeast spiciness; with light fruit tangy/tartness and pine/grassy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart/tangy apricots, lemon, lime, tangerine, peach, fruit skin, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, grapefruit, guava, green apple, citrus peel, peppercorn, hay, straw, herbal, floral, grass, wheat, cracker, oak, pine, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a short bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/spicy yeast, citrus/tropical hops, apricots, and light-moderate pale malt/oak flavors; with a great malt/tart/spiciness balance, and zero puckering/astringent flavors after the finish. Moderate dryness from tart/spiciness and carbonation, increasing through the glass. High carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, crisp, and fairly grainy/acidic/sticky/tannic balanced mouthfeel that is awesome. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.4%. Overall this is an awesome fruited/dry hopped sour ale! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/spicy yeast, citrus/tropical hops, apricots, and light-moderate pale malt/oak flavors; very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink with the balanced tart/spicy/drying finish. Really well balanced with a great mix of bright flavor complexity from hops, fruit, and Brett; with a solid malt backbone. Not as sour or oaky as I hoped for, but extremely drinkable as a result. A highly enjoyable offering.

Sample at the ’Smoked Meats and Beer’ tasting on 05/27/2017. Hazy yellow-orange color with a medium foamy white head that diminishes gradually to a film. Partial rings of lacing. Aroma of tropical fruit, herbs and malt. Light to medium body with flavors of pithy grapefruit, peach, yeast and doughy malt. The finish is slightly tart with a peach and apricot aftertaste. Good beer all around.

Draft at RnH West. Murky pour, white head, lots of lace. Big apricot aroma. A bit of hops. Drinks lightly tart, bright, and juicy. Nice mouthfeel. Very balanced, refreshing, and clean. I could drink a ton of this.

Growler from Checkers Liquors. Pours cloudy yellow color with white head. Aromas of tropical fruits, apricots, and sourness. Apricot, mango, lemon flavors with moderate sourness. Medium body with lively carbonation.

Not sure why there is so much appeal for some of these Grimm’s sours. Many of them lack complexity, just sour bombs without much more than citrus tang. Is it just a New York homerism thing? Anyway, hazy yellow pour without much head. Tangy sour finish. Citrus. Tap at Beltway.

At a tasting, many thanks, small stable bubbly head, murky deepish yellow color, aroma of straw, mustard, Mandarin and vinegar, citrus sourness, some flowers, and a bit of cigarette ash. Highly original and quite enjoyable.

Bottle sample at my (post-)10,000th rating celebration tasting at Dancing Camel. Thanks Raphaela. Cloudy shiny yellow with a white head. Lovely aroma with apricot, funk, fruity hops, oak, a bit of manure. Tart flavor, fresh fruity, oaky, with some funk, and a light bitterish note in the finish. Light to medium-bodied. Great and really refreshing.

22oz bottle I picked up at Pipetown, pours a very murky gold with some fluffy, white head. Nose is nice, lemons and apricots, and some dried peaches, some fresh yogurt, a little white flour gristiness there too, some other muddled tropical fruit. Flavor is tart with lemon and yogurt, some vitamin C, white flour biscuits, apricot, some nectarine, straw, some white grapefruit, a little guava. Full bodied with tartness and quite bright on the finish. Very nice.
