A full-bodied lager beer of exuberant and robust character. It’s muscle-man body comes from decocted German malts and noble German hops. Lagered long and cold to refine its strong temperament, St. Boisterous emerges smooth and seductive, with a malty sweet charm. This classic rendition of the German ‘maibock' style will warm your heart.

Bottle Pours a slightly hazy deep golden with a small lively short lived white head. Sweet light malts and honey in the aroma. Flavor is sweet and a bit of corn and honey. Very smooth and silky palate and a soft carbonation. Interesting. Very full bodied for a Lager.

A very sweet beer. Aroma has caramel and alcohol. Flavor is sweet and malty. Very light brown color and not a lot of carbonation. palate is a little lighter than I would like, but this is very drinkable and the alcohol is well hidden.

On tap at the Bocktown. Once I got this mixed up with St. Victorious! This beer is just slightly darker and more colorful than a ubiquitous pale yellow american lager. The aroma is that of wonted beer, nothing fruity, nothing special, nothing exceptional to speak of. Has a bantam white head. The flavor is a sapid ambrosial mix of fruit, woodiness and some rural attributes. Very lovely, an enjoyable flavor. Not too many brews have this characteristic. You can tell this is a stronger brew but it is not pell mell. It lacks the doggery of other brews that try to get in your face. Hides it’s alky content well. Although there is a mild alky linger that holds for a while on the finish, it is not offensive. Overall, an easy to drink and interesting brew that I am glad to have had the opportunity to taste! Better in flavor when compared to Erie Maibock, Rogue Dead Guy, Flying Dog Heller Hound and Hofbräu München Maibock. This is even better than Nova Paka Valdstejn which up to now was my best tasting heller bock.

Bottle at the Brickskeller. Was a little early in the season for me to have a spring beer when it was in the 20s. Very light flavor with a nice caramel malt aroma.

Bottle: "Enjoy by Oct. 13, ’06." Pours a light pilsneresque brown, bubbly head that rapidly trails to nothing. Basic malty smell. And a big malty taste, too. It does have some hops to keep it from being too sweet, but their character is hard to pick out. Pretty good as a light lager goes.

A hazy pale brown beer with an off-white head. The aroma is sweet and dominated by notes of caramel, while the flavor is sweet with notes of both malt and caramel. Nothing special - especially for the style.

Bottle thanks to xproudfoot. Straw-colored to light orange body, thin ring of off-white carbonation. Aroma of burnt caramels and earthy, grassy hops, herbal, almost medicinal, reminding me strongly of instant tea. Flavor dominated by medicinal hops, grassy, and leafy, with light bready malts. Sweetened tea with a slice of toast on the side. Good complexity, soft body. Well made.

Bright light orange in color, with zero head - overly sweet, syrupy, almost medicinal aroma - moderately sweet, honey-like flavor, tempered by a tiny bit of hop bitterness and a tea-like herbal character - way out of balance, and almost artificial-tasting - I swear I taste uncalled for aduncts in this beer - the swetness and alcohol burn make it remind me almost of malt liquor - not completely terrible, but the appearance and aroma really put the nail in the coffin.

Bottle. UGH. Holy cow, this stuff is leaves upon skunk upon moldy grass. Flavor and smell are vomit-worthy. Reminds me of beast.
