Used a lager glass. Nearly clear yellow color. Small thin white head, no lace. Light pale malt nose. Sweet malt and hop taste. Light body. Stronger hop presence when it get warms. A very nice starter brew on a warm June day before golfing.

Bottle from Half Time. Pours hazy amber with a large bubbly (large bubbles) head. Aroma is warm caramel with some mild spice. Med body. Flavor is caramel, but it’s far from sweet. There’s herbal hop and something that might be a grass bitter. There’s a lot of flavor here, and it is a bit out of the common for the style. Nice stuff.

Bottle. Pours a hazy amber with a slight gold hue and a white head that dissipated slowly to the edges. Aroma has a light grain note that is slightly sweet and has just a hint of light fruits. Flavor begins with sweet grains that mellow slightly and have a bit of a bread finish with a hint of light fruits in the finish.

Slightly hazy copper coloured body with a dense, two centimetre-tall tan head. Aroma of malt, fresh light (low a.a.) hops, metal, a touch of fruit and some metal. Medium to full-bodied; VERY assertive metallic and malt-liquor taste at first, fading to an assertive herbal and alcohol flavour overload. Aftertaste showing some lighter flavours of fruits, nuts and maybe even a touch of hops. Overall, a bit too strong and way overpowering for the style, although maybe I just prefer lighter lagers. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Vienna, Virginia on 16-April-2010 for US$2.19, sampled at home in Washington on 18-June-2010.

not at all what i expected when i got this one. im not the biggest fan of bocks and although never having a maibock, i was expecting the malt heavy winter version that i have had before, and that is not at all what this is. very well lagered and balanced to make a very enjoyable beer, great interesting color and aroma, and finishes with enough hop character to keep the taste enjoyable.

Pours deep, clear amber into a shaker. White head recedes to hug rim. Flowery honey and molasses aromas. Crisp and dark, molasses (minus ginger) cookie upfront turning quickly thick and nutty in the middle, ending in a lasty bitter citrus pith finish.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Chevy Chase, 3/24/10
Aroma: It has a fairly sweet aroma of grains, caramel malts, light spice, honey, and a bit of citrus
Appearance: Pours a hazy golden-orange color with a small white head and no lace
Flavor: The taste is medium (plus) sweet, with minimal bitterness, with the same flavors as above
Palate: This beer has a nice, crisp mouthfeel to it, abover average carbonation, and a light-medium body
Overall Impression: Overall, I like this beer, it has a nice flavor and feel to it that is almost more suited to a warm spring day like today as opposed to a cold Winter day when this one is available in stores. It is a crisp and refreshing beer, and a really flavorful lager style beer. Good stuff.

Pours a golden color with a quickly dissipating white head that never the less leaves some lacing. Not a powerful aroma: some fruitiness and a little bit of hops in there as well. Some light hops at the end of the taste. Slightly, ever so slightly sweet, with a modicum of bitterness. Yeasty. Not so much of the alcohol taste as some heller bocks have. Nothing really all that complex, but relatively smooth taste.

Bottle (at long last.) Pours a clear gold with lively carbonation and a fluffy white head that sits around a finger high. Aromas are of old vegetables and fruit with a little honey and foot sweat. Flavor is very sweet and heavy on light fruit... pears and apples with a little bit of honey. Huh... kinda thought this would be more exciting.
