Bottle pour from Total Wine & More, Brentwood. Lightly hazy maple syrup brown with nice sparkle, thin cap of creamy beige head and trace lacing. Aroma is strong earthy, nutty malt. Taste is strong toasted malt, mild caramel, nuts, toffee. Smooth, creamy texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Good flavor and aroma for style; exceptional palate.

Pour is a dark brown with a small white head. Aroma is caramel and grainy malt. Flavor is a very nice toasted grain with an even grainier aftertaste. Not sweet at all. This was a nice Euro dunkel made here in the States.

On tap at KC Bier, pours a clear amber with a small beige head. Aroma is quite subtle, with toasted malt and some bready malt. Flavour is dry and crisp, with toasted nuts and clean bready malt. Authentic, crisp and clean. Very good.

Chocolate malt and hay aroma. Brown with moderate head. Moderately sweet chocolate malt and moderately bitter fresh hay flavor. Good body and balance. Nice - pretty hoppy for the style.

On tap at Jack Stack. Pours a clear gold with a white head that dissipates slowly to the edges and laces slightly. Aroma is full of bread and straw with some sweetness underlying. Flavor has lots of bread with light sweetness and some straw backing.

Shaker pint draft at Talk of the Town in Leawood, Kansas. The pour is a haze brown copper with a smallish white head. The aroma is malty sweet, some hay and an initial blast of perfume fruitiness, which detracted. The taste is is caramel malt, some fruit sweet softness and a earth mineral in the back. The palate is medium bodied with active carbonation and the clean mineral finish. Nice, though the perfume fruit in the nose was off putting, though to be fair this seemed to be from the glass rather than the beer. I’ll find another place to try this one, and rerate.
