Got in a trade with The-Adjunct-Hippie. 12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 2/16/2017. Pours hazy deep orange/amber color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of huge tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, light pine, honey, biscuit, light caramel, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Fantastic aromas with awesome complexity and balance of juicy citrus/tropical hops, honey, and bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of huge tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, light pepper, pine, honey, biscuit, light caramel, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate pine/citrus rind/grassy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, mango, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, pepper, pine, honey, biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of juicy citrus/tropical/pine hops, honey, and bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance; and no lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light dryness from lingering bitterness, increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready, and sticky/resin/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Mildly warming alcohol for 9.1%. Overall this is an incredible DIPA! All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical/pine hops, honey, and bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV; despite the moderately strong/drying bitter finish. Very juicy/dank hops with a nice malt backbone, without being too sweet. Aggressively hoppy, but still really well balanced. A highly enjoyable offering.
