Our 19th anniversary release brings the boom, delivering it to the palate in a voluminous, hop-driven thunderclap. This double IPA owes its considerable oomph to a quartet of Australian hops—Topaz and Galaxy, plus two newcomers, Ella and Vic Secret, that scored impressively in test batches. We’re also applying the all-Aussie theme to the malt bill, which is composed entirely of an Australian variety called Fairview. The beer’s striking tropical fruit, citrus and peach hop flavors and slightly resinous and aromatically dank earthiness are sure to electrify your senses.

Hazy deep orange and honey coloured body with a fast-dying nice off-white head that shows nicely and leaves a light proper lace. Aroma of honey, alcohol, bright citrus and tropical fruit hops with some grass and a bit of perfume as well. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong grassy and tropical fruity hops up front with a large alcohol presence, some bitterness and a good balance of malt. Aftertaste finishes a bit sweet from resin and honey with some grassy notes and a bit overdone from the herbal hops. Overall, yet another completely uninspired Imperial IPA from Stone - no surprise of course, but this offers nothing different than their last Imperial IPA, whatever it was, it doesn’t matter - there are some minor hop notes that pertain to ’new world’ hops, but that’s it - not worthy enough to pay even a few dollars to buy this one, which sadly, I did. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Costco in Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia on 21-August-2015 for US$7,69 sampled at home in Washington on 31-January-2016 after buying a new car!

Tasting at Matt’s
Hazy dark blond color. Very strong pungent hops aroma, a bit funky. Lean body, on the dry side, good crisp malt backdrop and very strong resiny and pungent hops. Very strong bitterness.
Excellent.

Bottle from BottleDog, Kings X, consumed at Cliff House Campsite. Suffolk, Saturday, ’Boxing Day’ 26th December 2015 Glorious gold colour twinkly with a white head. Unusual aroma some sweet bittersweet orange and over ripe soft fruits. Bristling furry hoppiness rips across the tongue. Zippy, crushing orange, bitter but really good punchy fruitiness. Tap@Sorbon Brommaplan. Tonvis med ananas, mango och krusbär. Överraskande ljus i färgen. Massiv getpissbeska. Endast för Stonefrälsta, som gillar kraftigt beska droppar.
