Flavour liquorice, cherries, some ripe fruits, mild chocolaty tones, roast as well as some alcohol and mild port sweetness. Quite sweet, but still a very nice sipper.

Keg at the Hope Carshalton. It pours jet black with a thick, rugged deep tan head. The rich, juicy, bitter - sweet, tangy fruits, sour cherry, cranberry, rich roasted malts, blackforest gateaux, charred wood, spice, fruit cake and liquorice. The taste is smooth, rich roasted malts, charred wood, dark chocolate, sour cherry jam, dried berry, coffee, liquorice, toasted, tannins, fruit cake, sacher torte, light alcohol warmth, vinous quality and a touch of spice. The finish is warming, roasty and lingering. Very quaffable.

On tap at Tilt, Oslo. Looks pitch black with a rather large, beige head. Aroma of roasted malt with notes of cherry, reminds me a little bit of "Mon Cherie". Dark and roasty with chocolaty notes, ripe cherries and hints of syrup. Fairly sweet, but also balanced. Served way to cold, but seems like a nice winter warmer. Tasty and flavourful.
