We had our pal Basil over from Finback in Brooklyn and made this clean Pilsner inspired by their Foeder Pilsner. We selected toasted cedar and charred oak on the brew day to infuse while lagering.

Can direct from Newbarns. It pours crystal clear yellow - blonde with a thick, fluffy white head. The aroma is fresh, toasty grains, wood, baked goods, biscuit, grassy, leafy, herbal, cereal and a touch of nuttiness. The taste is crispy, dry, bitter, snappy, dry wood character, pleasing woody bitterness, clean malt base, toasty grains, cereal, pie crust, nuttiness, crunchy biscuit, grassy, herbal, touch of green veg and verbena with a dry, green finale. Average body and pleasantly fluffy carbonation. Nice depth of flavour and unique character. I am (unlike some previous others) a big fan of this.

On tap at Beer Shop Folkestone. Hazy gold colour lasting white head. Lager yeast aroma. Some light woody flavour. Like a spiced flavour. Its pretty good. I liked it. A bit fizzy in the flavour. Some bitterness on the finish. Some spice. OK.
