Brewed in collaboration with Amedea Cafe Bar to celebrate their 6th birthday.

Much like the Boškarin cow depicted, Black IPAs are a rare breed and so we decided to give one a crack! A delightfully balanced beer with malty notes of choco biscuit and uplifting berry and pine flavours from liberal doses of US Chinook, Centennial & Mosaic hops.

Can picked up at the brewery by my mate Daz. Not far off BBD. Clear very dark reddy brown. Glossy topped beige foam. Nose has fairly subdued hop with notes of pine and caramelised citrus. Some coffee malts. Bit of a savoury note. Taste is better with decent balance between sweet and coffee bitter. Smooth and quite creamy. Bitter finish. I suspect the hops have dropped off considerably here. Still smashed it, mind.

440ml can @ Tim's place, Gent. Brought by me, picked up at the brewery bar, Whitstable. Good black IPA.. possesses an earthy tone.. oysters come to mind though of course contains none.. nice pine notes adding a bit of colour, a little harsh on the finish but decent overall.

19 December 2025. Country Tasting @ Tim’s - thanks for hosting, cheers to the whole crew!

A: hazy black, small, frothy, beige head.
A: charred beef, fried mushroom, red onion, coffee powder.
T: restrainedly sweetish raisin, umami beef stock & mushroom, coffee.
F: earthy hops, some grapefruit peel, coffee.
P: medium body, slick texture, average carbonation.
Not too bad; lacking in hop profile somewhat, bit too earthy too.
