Deep dark brown coloured body with a thinnish, single centimetre light brown head that fades quickly and leaves nothing up top after a few seconds. Aroma of earthy, nutty, funky and rustic (dirty) notes with some caramelised sugars, a dash of molasses and a hint of vanilla towards the end. Medium-bodied; Strong vanilla and very earthy and first with a bunch of prunes and plums along with a nutty and rustic bite showing some bread and yeastie components with a light apple and pear sweetness coupled with some light spices at the very end. Aftertaste shows more of the rustic, nutty and very earthy profile with bunches of sweetness, mainly from the caramelised sugars, bbut also some from fruit and some from pure caster sugar. Overall, a deep and robust smelling and initial beer that gives way to a lot of sweetness and smoother flavours towards the end that ends up being easy-drinking. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Wegman's in Leesburg, Virginia on 10-October-2020 for US$1,99 sampled at my house here in Washington on 02-November-2020, my son's third birthday!

22oz bottle that identifies this as a belgian brown. Aggressive pour yields a short lived tan-brown. A-spicy/clove?, licorice/chocolate-med/dk malt. T-dk malt-chocolate, wood/wet wood?, spice/rye, asphalt/petroleum products.
