Nothing is more evocative of summer than the beautiful aroma of flowers, and the favored flowers of brewers are hops. Our brand new summer ale, Fleur de Houblon (Hop Flowers), is brewed to bring the many elements of summer into a refreshing and easy-to-drink Belgian-style ale.

Fleur de Houblon is a rich gold color with distinct floral hops in the aroma that follow through in the taste. Whole-cone Bravo hops are used to impart their earthy, fruity, and floral aromas and flavors. The body and flavor are clean and dry, with pleasing complexity and spicy notes from both primary and secondary fermentation with our unique Ommegang house yeast.

On tap @ Fox River House. Pour is a hazy yellow/gold with a BIG white head. Nose is of Belgian yeast and spicy floral hops and a wee bit of bubblegum. Flavor is spicy floral hops, biscuit, pepper, and citrus. Light bodied and actively carbonated. This comes off as more of a hoppy saison; nice!

Draft from notes. Floral and fruity with a little spice. A little bubblegum in there as well. Interesting and enjoyable, but this reminds me more of a saison than anything else.

A hazed blonde ale with a thickk lacing frothy head. In aroma, a smoth fruity malt with grassy citrusy hops, and light solvent. In mouth, a sweet fruity malt with orange pulp, grassy hops, coriander, decent.

12 oz. bottle. Lightly hazy yellow color with a huge, frothy, white head. The aroma is immense citrus notes, bread dough, herbal hops, and some light grains. The flavor is citrusy sweetness up front, with a nice hop bite. Good, clean finish. The body is very light, and the mouthfeel is lightly acidic. Light carbonation. Overall, this is a light, refreshing, and very drinkable beer. Complex enough to ponder while you drink, but still very sessionable.

Enjoyed from bottle at World of Beer in Evanston, IL prior to seeing World War Z. Also nursing a hiccup fit, hoping this clears it. Appearance is a very cloudy bright gold with a rich white head. Aroma of floral hops, hay, grassy, smells summer like. Taste is light, notes of clove, lemony, rather carbonated which will not help these hiccups, light dry finish. Overall I like it, good summer ale with a slight Belgian twist. It seems like this could be their new flagship brew.

Pours bright yellow into a shaker. Bright white head with good retention recedes leaving spot lacing. Yeast and pepper aromas. Sweet with caramel and yeast upfront turning to spicy hops in the lasting finish.

Not sure how beers like this end up in th same category as orval, heheh. On tap at the bocktown, nice place. Rather clear with a decent bubbly pond scum head. Typical beldgy aroma. Quite strong initially but mellows as the session continues. Yes the alky impact fades rapidly. Becomes medium mild Never gets really well behaved. Keeps some of that domestic personality as most of these wannah -B beldgian possess. Decent co2 makes it acceptable. Finish is not bad at all.
