Pours clear mahogany, medium beige head that dissipates quickly with some lacing. Aroma is grains, caramel, corn syrup, nothing special. Flavor is light plus sweet, some grassiness, minimal bitterness. Light bodied, clean dry finish.

Surprisingly decent aroma for Warsteiner. Smells nutty with some coffee tones. Pours dark brown. Aftertaste has bitterness and a little sweetness. Pretty high carbonation, with some booze detectable in the aftertaste. Ok for style.

Shared tonight by Dan, thanks for the opportunity. Pours a solid dark brown color with a smallish off white head that quickly dissipates to a cap. Smells of caramel and a hint of chocolate against a bready and pilsner malt base. Little to no hop aroma. The flavor is chocolate and caramel malts with a hint of bready pilsner malt. Little to no hop flavor or bitterness. Medium body with a light to moderate level of carbonation and a slick smooth mouthfeel. Decent dunkel, easy to drink, but really nothing special.

330 ml bottle into pilsener glass, best before 9/4/2012. Pours crystal clear reddish brown color with a nice 2 finger fairly dense light khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Spotty foamy lacing clings to the glass. Aromas of caramel, chocolate, biscuit, nuttiness, toast, toffee, herbal, pepper, and earth. Pretty nice aromas with good strength and balance. Taste of caramel, toast, biscuit, chocolate, nuttiness, herbal, earth, and light pepper. Lingering notes of chocolate, caramel, toast, nuttiness, and herbal on the finish for a short bit. Fairly dry and a touch thin on the finish. Fair amount of flavor and robustness; no cloying at all after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a lightly creamy and fairly crisp mouthfeel that is good. No alcohol presence in the taste or finish. Overall this is a very solid dunkel. A touch thin and watery; but has some nice flavors, balance, and is extremely easy to drink. Enjoyable stuff.

Draft@Crest Hotel, Prince Rupert, Canada. Blackish beer with a relatively strong head. The aroma is malty and yeasty, and the flavour is bitter with a reasonable amount of maltiness and yeastiness. Overall a pretty average dunkel. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft - Malty bread, maybe some rye. Clear burgundy with thin head. Malt, caramel, brown sugar and very minuscule bitterness. Refreshing, but too sweet for me.

Bottle pour into plastic cup. Slight malty sweetness on nose. Smooth with no carbonation on palate. Very middle of the road on bitterness, malt, hops, but I guess that is typical for a dunkel.

Notes from way back in 2008. Pours dark with about a finger of head. Aroma of caramel and light hops. Taste is about the same. Not too bad. Nothing special here but I’ll drink it.

Draft @ Yard House, Dedham, MA. Served in a pint. Minimal head or lace. Aromas of roasted nuts, caramel malt and a slight funk. Taste is lightly toasted malt, hint of coffee, and a touch of Euro hop bitterness. Mouthfeel is light, thin. Short abrupt finish. Not bad and is exactly as I thought it would be. I would skip this in a bottle but worth a try on draft, if you are in the mood for a dark lager.
