Brooklyn Dry Stout is a bold, reddish-black Irish-style stout, rich in color but low in alcohol and very drinkable. The dark colors results from brewing with roasted malts, lending Brooklyn Dry Stout a chocolate/coffee-like flavor with a bit of an espresso bite. The finish is dry and crisp and invites another pint.

Tasted from the tap on the Barcelona Beer Fest (14/03/2015). Opaque dark colour with a medium creamy head. Aroma of roasted malts and coffee. Taste is well balanced between coffee and cacao. Dry finish with presence of malts. Next one please!

12oz bottle from Wegmans, West Seneca, NY. An opaque black pour with a translucent beige head; aroma of well-roasted malts; despite the cola like appearance, the taste is quite grown-up with some initial sweetness, before a lengthy dry espresso taste; with a proniounced bitterness to finish. A passable stout.

Bottle from Drinkmonger. Dark brown body with a thin beige head that quickly fades. Light lacing. Aroma of filter coffee, fig and plum. Flavour of chocolate, weak coffee, malty bread and dark fruits. Thin body with a watery texture. Soft fizz. Far too thin and not particularly dry. Disappointing.

Reviewed from notes.
This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a black color with a one white to off white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute leaving some light speckled lacing clinging around the glass.
The smell had a dry roasty coffee bean which came across slightly espresso - like. Dark chocolate came through in a light sort of way.
The taste was mainly dry and roasty with the same aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a pretty good sessionability about it. The carbonation was fairly subdued but still good for its style.
Overall, this was a pretty good Irish Dry Stout that I would have again.

Nose is roast, slight coffee, a little cherry. Taste is light coffee, chocolate, a little vanilla, slight sweet tone. Mouthfeel is a touch thin. It’s almost porter like in it’s light sweetness. Overall to thin, too light.

Bottle from Dicey Reillys, Ballyshannon [040414]
Pitch black, tan bubbly head, some lacing
Aroma of soft roasted malts, dark malts, slight dark toffee malts, dark sweet chocolate
Taste of sweet dark malts that are quite nice in this, very soft roast, slight dark toffee
Palate - medium carb and body, bit too fizzy, quite smooth, fairly sweet, touch of bitter roast. Finish - not dry tbh, soft sweet dark malt chocolate linger
Overall - Didn’t seem dry to me and it’s nothing like the usual dry stouts like Guinness. Quite a pleasant stout,

Pours a dark brown colour with a fizzy-creamy beige head, good retention and minimal lacing. Aromas of hoppy grass over chocolate malts and hints of vanilla. The mouthfeel is quite thin. Watery roasted malt taste with not much dryness from the hops. Notes of mild cacao and vanilla, but really watery again. Not something to remember.
