Bottle from House Of Trembling Madness. Black body with a dense beige head. Low carbonation. Good lacing. Aroma of pine, berries and liquorice. Flavour of black grape, lemon and pine. Medium body with a smooth mouthfeel. Soft fizz. Bright and refreshing with berry notes.

Wow that’s a stunner. Understated but sublime. Gorgeous pour. Smooth roast, bittersweet cocoa, black coffee, ash, earth. Velvety. Burnt toast. A light suggestion of pine and grapefruit. Lip-smacking finish. World-class.

Bottle. Waitrose. Nearly black. Magnificent Kernel swede looks like it’s a nitro pour job. Easy 10. Nose has dark chocolate maple caramel chocolate. Some hefty char. Scorched sugared grapefruit. Taste is fruity ashy woody bitter. Some dryness. Good body with very fine carbonation which also gives a nod toward a nitro pour. It’s pretty silky and a tad unusual for it. There’s a juicy grapefruit bitterness that builds throughout and lingers on the finish. Outstanding beer despite the fine carbonation and one I will be filling a basket with very soon.
