Poured from a 16 oz can dated August 06, 2025.
Aroma is chocolate forward with lots of vanilla as well. Light roast and coffee notes. Light cinnamon notes and a bit of a pepper note as well. Medium alcohol notes with light bourbon and rum notes and hints of oak.
Pours jet black with a small, thin, dark mocha head that recedes quickly to the edges and disappears.
Flavor is rather sweet with lots of chocolate notes and lighter roast, toffee and caramel. Moderate bitterness and medium alcohol warmth. Medium coffee notes with some light pepper and spice notes. Light vanilla and lighter cinnamon. Light bourbon and rum notes with faint oak.
Mouthfeel is full bodied with medium low carbonation. Low astringency and medium alcohol warmth.
Overall, a solid BA imperial stout. Lots of nice chocolate, vanilla and pepper notes. Alcohol notes are nice and work with the adjuncts.

Thick, black, no head. Definitely looks inky. That smells rich - burnt toffee, cinnamon, a little bit of vanilla. The rum barrel is nice, some bourbon, lots of dark chocolate. The cinnamon is balanced, a bit of vanilla again on the palate. Light alcohol in the finish, along with those chiles. Balanced, everything comes together fairly well in this one.

16 oz. can, pours jet black, tiny head. Aroma is super complex, with intense dark sugars, big bourbon, cinnamon, light chilis, and dark coffee. Flavour is rich, melding the best of bourbon and rum barrels, with great cohesion from the adjuncts—coffee, cinnamon, cocoa nibs, chilis, vanilla less so—with a great malt depth and nice dark sugar character without being very sweet. Lots of adjuncts I don’t normally love in BA stouts (cinnamon, chilis), but they’ve crafted this very carefully. Excellent.

Poured from 473mL can (canned 08/06/2025). Near black with minimal beige head. Coffee, woody cinnamon, feint vanilla and chillies, touch of bourbon and rum. Lots going on, maybe a touch too much (could be dialed in a little for more cohesion), but quite complex and interesting.

473mL can. Pours black with no head. Chewy dark sugars, bourbon, rum, coffee, cacao, and a touch of cinnamon on the nose. Flavour has a very rich malt profile, dark sugars, good roast, earthy coffee and dark chocolate, notes of cinnamon and vanilla, a light touch of chili heat; huge bourbon and rum barrels. The base is great and the barrels and adjuncts are well integrated. Excellent.

16oz can from Alesmith. Nose is cocoa, chilies, vanilla, and a sweet cinnamon roll note. Black with a medium, short lasting, dark brown head. Flavor is moderately sweet with only a mild warmth from the chilies.
