Medium brown pour, light beige head. Aromas of burnt sugar and lightly roasted malts. Flavor is more of the same with a hint of wet paper, and nuts. Finish is very sweet, and astringent. This is a mess.

Poured from 473mL can (pkg 03 Oct 2023). Very dark brown with huge beige head. Roast malt, feint molasses, maple is so subtle to be almost undetectable. Just an okay porter.

Nice enough beer. Base is a bit thin. But the maple is in nice proportion. Nickel brook brewery

only the smallest hint of maple flavor, and a pretty standard porter otherwise.

Pitch black, small frothy tan head, dissipates slowly, light lacing. Aroma roasted malts, cocoa, caramel, light maple syrup. Taste medium sweet and bitter, malty, roasty, dark chocolate, faint maple and licorice notes. Sweetbitter aftertaste, malty, chocolate, burnt carame, medium body, watery to oily texture, soft carbonation. Nice porter that could have used a bit more body.

Can. A- Subtle maple, light fudge, slightly roasty. A- Dark brown color, dark liquid, beige head. T- Mild Canadian whisky, cocoa, subtle maple. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, dry finish. O- Enjoy fresh the can says, but I even bought it months past it's prime. Drank 1.5 years after the canned date, this held up, but I envision what it's like fresh. A bit roasty and dry. Maple is there but not really a feature. Full body for only 6%. Wanted more dessert like notes but not bad considering how old it was.

Can 473ml (BR, 6.0 %, 12 MAR 2017)
Opaque colour, small steady beige head. Aroma is toasted malty, even a bit ashy. Medium-bodied. Sweetish flavour, glucose but maybe from maple syrup. Toasted and ashy, hints of licorice. Ok porter.
