16 oz can. Pours black with a tan head. Rich creamy coffee and dark cocoa aroma, with a sweetness to it. Flavor is roasty dark cocoa and coffee with anise notes. A bit of maple in the finish, though I wouldn’t pick it out without it being in the name. Pretty tasty.

Originally rated March 2013. 750ml bottle with a wax-sealed cap. Pours a dark brown colour with a frothy mocha cap that has great retention and foamy thin lace. Coffee aroma start, with eventually caramel and roasted malts, dark fruit notes and mild yeast. The maple really appears in the taste, not to add too much sweetness, but well-balanced with the hop bitterness in the finish. Mild sugars, roasted malt and a tad of dark fruits. A very nice, easy-drinking porter, with hints of maple syrup.

Draft - Sweet sugars and roast, not quite maple. Jet black with a rich brown head. Dark roast, syrupy sweetness with a long syrupy finish. Pretty average.

750ml bottle from the LCBO. Pours a deep reddish black with a big pillowy khaki head that fades slowly leaving nice lace. Nose is toffee, coffee and chocolate with notes of vanilla and maple. Nice sweet start with some nuts and coffee with vanilla and a definite maple note balancing a slight bitterness.. Creamy slightly thin mouth with a lingering smoky finish.

A 750ml bottle (with its fancy new graphics) bought from my local LCBO. A well done porter. Great rich smell of toasted malts, brown sugar and maple. Nice full fluffy tan head that slowly breaks down with lacing over a nearly opaque espresso-brown beer. The taste right up front with toasted malts, a touch of bitterness there, but the is a calm sweetness there to balance it out. Maple is mostly lost to me in the beer itself. A little vanilla, floating around there as well. While porters and stouts are really my thing, this one is well done, and worth a try.

750mL bottle, pours black with a medium tan head. Aroma brings out maple syrupy, some dark fruits, almost a pumpkin-y note, and some winter spices. Flavour brings out winter spices, some light maple syrup, and dry roast. Way too carbonated, which throws everything off. Very dry and roasted - almost burnt. This is a big mess. Not good at all.

Bouteille 750ml.
