$1.79 bottle from Market Street Wine Shop, Downtown. Pours nearly black with an inch+ of beige head. Aroma of caramel, light raisin. Taste is quite sweet caramel and raisin, some tingly metallic middle, with a sweet raisin finish, A bit too sweet for me, but not bad.

12 oz bottle, thanks Drake! Virginia tick. Aroma consists of jammy fruit, bread, Lucky Charms--interesting. Pours mahogany with a medium beige head with great retention; laces a little. Taste is sweet, savory and roasty; the whole package is reminiscent of buttered toast with raspberry jam. Mouthfeel is creamy, body is medium. I wasn’t expecting too much from this one; I haven’t had a good dubbel in awhile. A nice surprise!

New Beer Distributors, NYC 12 ounce ($2.50): Pours brown with a tan head. Aroma is dark fruits, sugar, and yeast. Taste is sweet, but not excessively so. Very little hops, of course. Plenty of dark fruit flavors. Slightly burnt. Pretty good.

12 ounce bottle. Translucent reddish brown. Small creamy tan head. Rich roasted malt aroma hints at dark dried fruit. Rich fruity malt flavor has notes of burnt caramel and dark cherries. Some spicy hops as well. Finishes dry and chewy.

12 oz. bottle. Color is deep ruby with thin ring of white head. Aroma is hints of dark fruit, molasses and caramelized sugar.

Flavor really is not enjoyable for me. The yeast or the malt is off. Old funky berries, molasses and astringent dark grain. Off bitter chocolate notes. Not sure if this is a bad bottle or just really pour brew. Pass.

dark brown reddish hues. Nose is fruity and sweet. Taste is velvet figs and blackberries but overall, yucky.
