Reviewed from notes. This was received in a trade.
This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a nice dark brown color ranging close to black. There was a one finger white to off white foamy head that dissipated within less than a gentle half minute. There was some light clingy lacing.
The smell had a nice blend of roasty coffee beans to a light cocoa.
The taste was mainly sweet but still had a light robust coffee flavoring underneath.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was somewhat sharp but still maintaining it’s Porter like quality of a decent smoothness.
Overall, I say this was a pretty good Porter for the most part.

Bottle. Dark black not much head retention. Aroma is nice amounts of coffee. Light chocolate.

Flavor is bitter coffee bean that just turned. Light caramel and a weak hop in the back ground. Really bitter. Pretty astringent and basic.

12oz bottle pours a watery black with some thin, creamy off white head. Nose is very nutty, coffee grounds, mocha, bread crust, some raisin, cola. Flavor has lots of soured coffee, sweet malt, cracker, toast, a little toasted almond. Watery finish. Very drinkable.
