Sampled on February 23, 2017. Can 12 fl oz from Total Wine & More, Clearwater, FL. Purchased on January 29 for $2.49.A bit happy out of the can, builds up an oversized head when poured.Clear black color, some read. Sort of fluffy tan head with lacing, once it settles after the pour. Malty, nettles, semi-sweet scent. Roasted, malty taste. Roasted, sort of sweet aftertaste. Some warming alcohol. Fairly fizzy mouthfeel, medium low bitterness.

Dark brown coloured body with a nice, two centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of vanilla, toasted malt, oatmeal, peat and tons of nuts, peanuts and earth - quite light for the style, but very fragrant. Medium-bodied; Super assertive nutty flavours dominate with some vanilla, a lot of caster sugar and some dry oak and wood tastes at the end. Aftertaste is a bit more complex with the grain, nuts, vanilla, caramelised sugars and earthiness to blend in with the moderate body. Overall, a decent beer that shows almost more of a nut brown than a porter, but some solid flavours and a nice subtle yet very smooth complexity shows nicely. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from New Beer Distributors in New York, New York on 02-July-2016 for US$2,50 sampled at home in Washington on 12-November-2016.

Can, received as an extra in a trade with Leighton. Cheers! Clear, very dark red. Thick, tan head, subsides into a sticky film. Nutty and sweet. Not unlike Nutella on toast. Beyond that there’s not a lot else. Taste is sweet, with some roast bitterness. Creamy mouthfeel. Finishes a little too sweet and sticky overall, but pretty enjoyable anyway.

New Beer Distributors, NYC can: pours near black with a beige head. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, and a nice bit of smoke in there. Taste is sweet roasty and chocolatey. The smokieness is very pleasant and takes this beer to the next level. It kind of pulls everything together.

12oz can pours with a nice dark brown body that supports a tan head of foam. The aroma offers up malt sweetened roasted malts, chocolate and then a thin layer of molasses and caramel malts. The taste is pretty thick with malt and molasses sweetness that sweetens up the roasted malts and chocolate as well as earthy coffee goodness. In the background I get some spicy black licorice. Very nice.
