A ruddy amber American Strong clocking in at 7.7% abv. Grapefruit and stone fruit hop aroma and character are balanced by a rich red malt backbone. A precise blend of 7 hops go into the brewing and dry hopping process including Nelson Sauvin, Mosaic, Horizon, Palisade, Citra, Willamette, & Columbus. From Flannery O’Connor to Iron Maiden the Seventh Son of a Seventh Son is embedded in American culture as a powerful harbinger of good fortune; what better name for our flagship ale?
*Pairs well with strong flavors found in roasted meats and root vegetables and works well with Double Gloucester or other moderately aged cheeses.

On tap at Seventh Son, pours a clear dark amber / burgundy with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out sweet bready malt, toasted caramel, and resinous hops. Flavour is certainly on the sweet side of things, with lots of caramel, bready malt, and some resinous hops that could be dialled up. Balance is okay, but I want the sweetness to be attenuated out a little more. Good but far from great.

Sampled on draft at Whistle & Keg this beer poured a caramel brown color with a large foamy tan head that left decent lacing. The aroma was strong sweet pine, berry and tobacco. The flavor was tangy and malty with tobacco, toffee an lots of pine. Long finish with growing tobacco. Moderately full bodied.

Can: Slightly hazy dark amber with a small beige head. Caramel, slightly leathery, alcohol scent. Caramel malt, grain malt taste. A bit dull....alcohol is nicely hidden, though..... easy to drink...just OK.

Can. Orange, caramel malt, and grapefruit peel aroma. Dark amber with large tan head. Moderately sweet orange caramel malt and mildly bitter orange peel flavor. Okay - not boozy. Like a less hoppy I2PA.
