Tap at BeerTemple. Almost clear tea brown/amber with fluffy white head. Sour grapes and caramel, oak wood, funky yeasty. Medium sour, light sweet underneath. Under medium body. Minerallike trxture, low carbonation.

Tap at Beer Temple. Slight hazy reddish amber with fluffy and bubbly off white head. Sour cherries, red berries, dusty, hay, lemon, light oxidized sherry notes but no lactic notes like Rodenbach sometimes has. Medium sour and light dry bitter finish. Under medium bodied, no carbonation. Not very complex but very nice and drinkable.

On tap at Vermont tap house, Williston, VT.
This was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a burnt red close to brown color with a slim finger’s worth of white foamy head. Quickly dissipates. Messy lacing.
The smell takes on a nice sour citrus, some grapefruit, tart apple, sour cherries all coming together and playing against super subtle caramel/toffee/biscuit malts.
The taste was mainly sour with a nice dry tart edge bringing in subtle oaky/woody notes. Running dry in the aftertaste and on into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium in body with a fair sessionable to sipping quality about it. Carbonation runs nice. Sour and oaky notes punch my tongue appropriately.
Overall, what a nice Flanders Red ale. I’d have this one again.

Tap 20cl. Poured into a tulip tasting glass @biermuseum Bruges [5-3-2016]. Hazy amber brown colour, small foamy beige head, mostly diminishing, fair lacing. Aroma apple vinegar, light tart, yeast, wood. Mild taste, medium sweet and sour, apple juice, wood, vinegar. Dry sourish finish, light to medium body, watery to slick texture, soft carbonation, very good pleasant sour brown.

Unclear, red colored, medium+ lasting offwhite head. Aroma is very fruity tart, winy must, red wine, wood, some caramel. Taste is medium sweet caramel, fruity berry, red wine, tart with moderate sourness, bit vinegar, light funk, dry finish, some bready notes and a lasting bread-wine must aftertaste. Medium to light bodied, soft carbonation. (on tap, Beer Museum, Brugge)

3oz pour at Max’s Belgian Fest 2016 pours a clear orange with some white head. Nose is acetic, some vinegar, wet wood, blood orange. Flavor has fig and booze, wood, red wine vinegar, apple core. Tart finish.

On tap at Malt House. Really brings me back to the old Rodenbach days, which for me, was around 2000. Unfiltered orange-brown-red. Thin, steady, creamy, white head. Tart and biting, nice oaky cherry tones. While it is sour, it is pretty easy to drink. Medium bodied. Slight mineral vinegar tones. Pretty excellent. Quite lacto forward, starter-like.

On tap at Beer Temple. Deep golden orange/amber colour, off-white head. Aroma of wood, balsamic vinegar, vinegar, oak, apple skin. Flavour is medium sweet, apple juice, apple skin, lots of wood, acetic acid, vinegar, hint of oak, quite sour but very nice. Light bodied. Good, refreshing.
