Bottle from Mitsuya. Deep brown with a mocha colored head. Strong espresso notes with some milk chocolate, milk and a hint of dark fruit. Taste can’t live up to the nose, so a bit of a disappointment there. Body is a little thin, but good coffee flavor is there with some roasted malt. Not bad. --- Beer merged from original tick of Split Shot on 30 Aug 2015 at 18:40 - Score: 6

Black with a dark brown head. Sweet dark malts and coffee are the two notes I picked up in this one. It also has some vanilla in the background, rounding out the sweet malt. Full bodied. Pretty simple coffee stout but well made at the same time.

Dark brown color. Light brown head. Massive espresso notes in the nose to the degree that malt character is suppressed. Not necessarily a bad thing IMO. Super smooth mouth that has ton of espresso, caramel and roasted malt notes. Slightly acidic. Super quaffable. Lingering espresso finish. Excellent.

Nothing overly impressive. Disappointing for a nitro.

Bottle: Dark brown with a tan cap, decent lacing throughout. The nose is seductive with coffee and cocoa. The amount of roast is just right and the quality of the coffee is not lost. The same translates to the taste; the quality of the coffee is strongly evident. A nice amount of roast and light sweetness. Think rich espresso with a light cream. No bitters to speak of. The only detriment, imo, is the body being a little thin. It misses the creaminess of the taste, if that makes sense. A minor gripe; overall this is very well done.

Bottle shared by Brian. A dark brown with a light beige pour and a nice coffee & cream aroma. Medium-full bodied with a round carbonation. The taste is fairly average for a coffee stout, acrid dark malt, roast coffee and bit of sweetness. Decent.

12oz bottle. Clear dark brown with a full dense light mocha head. Fairly light and a little sweet and a easy dark beer.

Pours black with a fading head.Nose shows a well-balanced mix of roasted malt, coffee and cocoa. Sweet-smelling, reminiscent of a cappuccino.Sweet flavours, more coffee, roasted malt and lactose sweetness. Gets a little cloying later.Lovely creamy carbonation, feels a little watery though.
