Deep mahogany brown topped with a light khaki cap of thinly knit bubbles that veer to the edge.
Nose is dried fruit rinds, dark malts, toffee, molasses, cherry pipe tobacco.
Taste comprises fruit rinds, cherry skins, spice, booze tunes, dark malts, dates, toffee.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, drying close with a balanced rising boost.
Tidy sipper if not top drawer.

Can at home, shared with Laura. Brownish red color, medium sized off-white to beige head. Aroma and flavor are malts, a bit bitter, more bitterness thereafter with some caramel and caramelized malts. Decent to medium body, decent carbonation. Quite solid. Don't get cherry liquor though tbh.

Aus der Dose (bbbe 31.01.2036) im 2026-04 getrunken. Dieses braune Barley Wine ist noch zu frisch abgefüllt, denn hier ist der Hopfen noch deutlich wie auch immer beim Bommen & Granaten war. Ansonsten zeigt sich der Cherry Liqueur auch nicht wirklich. Vielleicht braucht der auch noch etwas Zeit. Insgesamt ein typischen Barley Wine wo sonst alles richtig am Braukessel gemacht wurde. Balance, Körper und eingebundener Alkohol ist sehr gut umgesetzt. Mal schauen was meine 2.Dose in paar Monaten dann kann.

Can. Color: Hazy amber, beige head. Aroma: Malty, dark fruit, caramel malt, hints of cherry. Taste: Following the aroma. Subtle cherry. Hoppy backbone, floral and citrus hop. Just over medium body, just below average carbonation. Moderate to over moderate sweet and bitter.

Can. Just a mild haze on this deepish amber beer, good pale tan head. Airy palate that is also slightly viscous. Semi dry with good fine minerally carbonation coming through late on. Decent malt base, fairly light bodied but, chewy in flavour, malt cream, toffee and caramel. A savoury vibe runs throughout as well as a mild wet wood thing. Cherry liqueur really comes through on the finish, rich ripe Maraschino cherry, touch of almond pip. Everything comes together into a pleasing finale. Nicely done.

Blik thuis geprobeerd met LiekevdV. Het is een troebel roodbruin bier met een volle beige schuim. Het heeft een aroma van mout en kersen. De smaak is vol fruitig, zacht zoet en kersen achtig. Doet me denken aan een kersen bonbon.
