Our American version of the popular wheat beers of Germany, this refreshing, flavorful brew draws smoothness and complexity from the contribution of 65 percent malted wheat. Light gold in color and throwing a snow-white creamy head, this brew is only lightly hopped and is naturally cloudy with a slight veil of brewer's yeast.

Tap. Had near UT campus. Cloudy, gold color. Weak head. Taste was not as spicy as others of this style, slightly sweet. Aroma was a watery, hay, some cloves.

5oz on tap at Smoky Mountain in Gatlinburg. Poured a golden yellow color with a small white head. This beer is a touch one note, but not awful. Would be refreshing on a hot day. Light sweet grain, touch of floral notes, very mild citrus.

Keg at Smoky Mountain Turkey Creek, 16/02/15. Almost opaque yellow topped with a moderate off white swirl. Nose is light citric presence, straw, cereals, grain. Taste comprises lemon rind, grassy notes, melon, light herbal. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. So so but as wheat ales go pretty innofensive.

Refrigerated 12 oz. bottle courtesy of queenholly poured into weizen glass. Pours hazy pale golden with a little suspended yeast and medium/small white head. Aroma is light lemon, medium/light body, medium carbonation, and thick small-bubble lacing. Taste is easy drinking lemon. This is a Belgian White, not a wheat ale. Queenholly nailed this one unrated state, wheat beer, and good beer, thanks queenholly.

12 oz. bottle courtesy of queenholly. My weizen glass displays a hazy straw color fast dying white head. Nose is wheat and bread type malt. Flavor of malt with a decent wheat backbone. Notes of lemons. No trace of hops. Medium mouthfeel and body. Clearly this was a fresh bottle and somewhat refreshing Wheat ale. I killed the glass with ease.

A hazed blonde wheat ale with a thin white head. In aroma, light fruity esters with light ginger. In mouth, again bland sweetness, not very good. On tap at Calhoun’s on the River, Oct. 22 2011.
