This dark amber wheat beer features fruity and spicy aromas galore. Significant strength underlies the pleasant citric appeal of this bock beer. Redolent with the flavors of harvest fruit, Moonglow typifies the traditional weizenbock-style so thoroughly enjoyed throughout Bavaria. Left unfiltered, its unique yeast strain gives Moonglow a radiance all its own.

Dark ripe fruit, quite a bit of wheat and yeast, with a very slight spiciness. The finish is quite bitter though, throws the beer off a bit.

(Bottle) Brownish amber colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, slightly spicy nose with notes of dark bread, orange peel, apricot marmalade, prunes and a touch of clove. Malty, spicy taste with bread, chocolate, candy sugar, dried apricots, orange peel, clove, cinnamon and a mild spicy bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and well made weizenbock. Very nice.

Draught @ Roasthouse, Frederick, MD. Pours clear orangeish amber with airy off-white head. Clear aroma of malt and yeast, with notes of caramel and touches of grain and hops. Sweetish flavour of malt, banana and yeast, with sourish, grainy notes and bitter touches of hops. Dryish and acidic aftertaste with rough and spicy notes. Very decent.

Pours clear amber, very little foam. Sweet autumn fruits aroma, bit of sugary and frostbitten pears, sweet and with a bitter edge. Taste is creamy, sweet and has some pumpkin spices for some reason. Small alcohol kick there as well but nothing too serious. Decent example of the style, malty, drinks easier than it should. Not overly sweet, which is a good thing in my book.

Bottle picked up from Wine Rack at Yarnton Nurseries, Yarnton, Oxon, consumed at home Sunday 19th March 2017 whilst cooking Fish Pies and Voodoo Pizzas. Hazy amber with not much of a head, a little boozy, wheaty, some banana toffee, soft in the mouth, fruity a touch of spice. This is decent infact most beers that i’ve had from Victory are very good, however not desparately exciting. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.6

Bottle from The Hippo Taproom. Hazy amber body with loads of yeast flecks floating beneath a thin off-white head that fades. Aroma of honey, mince pie, banana bread and caramel. Flavour of red apple, raisins and peppery malt. Medium body with a sticky texture. Soft fizz. Sweet and warming. A decent Weizenbock but not as complex or concentrated as the best ones I’ve tried.
