Aroma: On the nose, banana and wheat are most prominent, with clove and other fruit notes
Appearance: Pours a clear brownish-orange color with a foamy beige head and mild lace
Flavor: The flavor is big and sweet, with banana and wheat, balanced by a little spice hop
Palate: The body is medium, it has a lively carbonation, and long, sticky (slightly cloying) finish
Overall Impression: The nose really bellows out of this one as soon as you pour. I could smell the sweet banana and wheat aroma well before I put my nose into the glass to take a real whiff. Beyond the aroma this beer just it's thing nicely. By that I mean, this knows exactly what it is trying to be, and that is what it is. It is clear and well defined. It isn't at all muddled. Sure, it's probably a bit too sweet for my personal preferences, but that is no knock on the beer. This one is right on.

Refrigerated brown bomber poured into a weizen glass. Pours dark amber with one finger beige head. Aroma is nice banana, medium/light body, medium carbonation, and thin small-bubble lacing. Taste is dark malt, herbal hops, some banana, and some alcohol in the finish. More bock in flavor than weizen.

22 ounce bottle. Cloudy amber color. Small creamy beige head. Rich toasted wheat malt aroma has notes of bananas and caramel. Sweet wheat malt flavor. Bananas, brown sugar, cloves and vanilla bean emerge. Reminds me of Bananas Foster? Finishes with a dose of citrus hops. A bit too sweet for my liking.

Light citrus, and a nice overall package. Light florals with some woody aroma common to the style. Light bitter finish. Pours orange with ok head and lacing. Nice stuff, and good to see someone do a decent job of this style. Bottle.

Bomber from Wine & Cheese in Clayton, MO. Pours darkly ruby with a slight off-white head. Aroma of treacle and some indeterminate fruit esters. Full bodied or nearly. Flavor is sort of smoked banana with moderately dark treacle. Not finishing dry. Quite tasty.

Bomber from TheEpeeist after two years of waiting for them to produce their Matador (still listed with no ratings). Nose is banana, wheat bread yeast, with a hint of vanilla toffee and cloves. Murky amber with a medium, lightly lacing, beige head. Flavor is lightly bitter, sweet bananas, and very spicy and peppery. Nice weizenbock!

Clear mahogany pour with a thin tan head. Spicy aroma, sugary malts, bananas, very nice! Rich and fruity flavor with some spice. A cross between a Siced Apple Winter Warmer and an Imperial Dunklewiezen. Some dryness in the finish.

Deep super hazy rich brown body with a thick three centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of tons of yeast, bananas, hay and a lot of toasted sugars. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong rich malty notes with a lot of yeast and wheat and tons of bananas, but also a lot of alcohol also around the edges. Aftertaste is deep and pungent with alcohol and a rich banana and yeast finish go well. There is a ton of sweetness still lingering despite the alcohol, to complete the beer. Overall, a very nice beer with a deep finish and a lot of complexity. Great to sample and a very good beer for the style - I wish I didn’t have to go with the hype of another Southern Tier beer, but this is truly good. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Arlington (Clarendon), Virginia on 04-May-2014 for US$6.99 sampled out West in Denver, Colorado with haddon90 on 08-June-2014.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 3/17/2014. Pours hazy deep ruby brown color with a 2 finger dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with some moderate streaming carbonation. Aromas of big banana, raisin, plum, apple, clove, caramel, toast, toffee, brown bread, brown sugar, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/earthy yeast and dark/bready malt sweetness; with good strength. Taste of big banana, raisin, plum, apple, clove, caramel, toast, toffee, brown bread, brown sugar, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Fair amount of earthy clove spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of banana, raisin, plum, apple, clove, caramel, toast, toffee, brown bread, brown sugar, herbal, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice robustness and complexity of fruity/earthy yeast and dark/bready malt sweetness; with a great malt/yeast balance and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a moderately creamy and lightly slick/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a damn good weizen bock. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/earthy yeast and dark/bready malt flavors; and very smooth to sip on. A very enjoyable offering.
