clear amber, smooth beige head, looks awesome
ARoma is malty, slightly bready or buttery but really, really refined, alc. can clearly be sensed as a stingy sensation, apart from that, a quite complex barley wine with tons of energy.
Flavor is moderately boozy , barley wine, malts, sweet malts, nutty malts, faint wood, delicate, faint caramel. it's a very boozy sipper, but pretty complex in its apparent simplicity. still, i feel a bit like the beer could be more complex and less boozy with all the effort put in.

Sample, thanks fonefan! Clear mahogany colour, small head. Intense, woody nose with bourbon and caramel. Sweet with full body and rounded mouthfeel. Caramel and wood, peppery rye bread. Warming mid bitter finish.

500 ml shared by Clarkvv. Aroma has soft oak, rye, and mild toffee. Flavor follows. Quite a nice way to revisiting FSW. Been a minute since I had a new one from them.

Bottle pour shared by ClarkVV--thanks, Clark! Cloudy, murky brown with ring of head, no lacing. Aroma is malt sweetness, bourbon barrel with offsetting vegetal hops. Taste is strong bourbon, caramel, raisin, spice. Smooth texture, average texture, no alcohol, finish as taste. Nice.

2022 500mL bottle drunk 6/14/25.
Clear deep maple. Small, beige head.
Coconut and oak tannin. Rich and buttery with light pineapple on the end. Juicy caramel and moderate base malt. No booze.
Coconut, pineapple, vanilla and sweet white bread. Juicy and lightly peppery with low spice but good richness. A bit sweeter than it should be with orange rind, caramel and vanilla. But no booze. Could even do a bit more oak.

Thanks fonefan! Copper colour, small white head. Aroma is caramel, some mild rye, alcohol and some brown sugar with a bit burnt tones. Flavour is caramel, rye, alcohol, some brown sugar and some toffee. Quite complex, though easy going.

Finding a gem like this is why I keep hunting for beers. Surprising hints of tropical sweetness shining through the spicy rye (heavy but pleasant barrel). No longer bitter. A slight lack of complexity is the only thing holding it back, but it's got

Bottled. At Juova Helsinki, 24/05/2025.
Poured clear and deep mahogany in color, almost no head.
Bready malty, sweetnrss and wood. Raisins and some rye, honey. Completely hides abv. Incredible really. The smoothness, the drinkability despite being so strong.
