This black lager has herbal and red fruit aromas, leading to roast malt, chocolate and coffee flavours, balanced by a lingering bitterness in the finish.

Cask up the White Lady. Interesting style to put on cask, so well done JDW for that. Pours clear dark brown with a thin beige head. Aromas of light roast, ash, sweet nuttiness. Taste is cocoa, dry dark chocolate, light roast again. A green bitterness on the finish. Maybe that's the lager note.

Cask handpull at Barrel Vault JDW St Pancras. Dark cola colour beer thin tan head. Some dark fruit like damson even a bit sharp sour like damsons. Yes enable enough. Decent temperature. Some walnut husk dryness on the finish. I thought decent and interesting

Wetherspoon Spring Beer Festival 2026, Beer#1. Starting with a strongest available, a mahogany coloured brew with a small glow. Its strength is most evident in aroma, but fruit, chocolate and darker malts are a tasty combination. Lager character with a bitter finish.

Mahogany coloured with a beige head and a light fizz. Sweet black coffee, fake chocolate flavour, some dusty wood. A light roasty bitterness and some rosemary in the aftertaste. It's ok, but sadly I'm finishing on the worst of the 3 fest beers I've tried today.
