Our Pumple Drumkin Ale is a fall favorite on the island. A deep orange hue and a subtle pie aroma meet a robust malt character in this ale which, true to its seasonal reveling, tastes like toasted pie crust in your mouth. It will finish clean and dry on the palate and leave you wishing that every day could be autumn on Nantucket!

Tap at Stagshead. I was unable to find any info on this brew but waitress said it’s a play on the Pumple Drumkin but withoutbthe pumpkin. So it’s a spiced amber ale I supposed. Pours brownish with no really head. Tastes of brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, earth, leather, wood, and licorice. Not overwhelming flavors though and is missing depth. A touch watery with light alcohol finish.

Tap at Alewife. Pours orange with beige head. Nose of typical pumpkin spicing. This is moderatly spiced with nutmeg, cinnamon, and cloves. You also get pumpkin/squash flavors, mlat, earth, light caramel, and woody. Decent pumpkin for the style

12 oz. Color is an orange gold color. Small head and light lace. The nose is only caramel malt and all spice. Flavor had good balance between spices and bready malts. This is a spiced beer, NOT a pumpkin. Very light hop presence in the finish. This will not “Whoa you” And don’t say it’s a pumpkin ale because it isn’t!

Location: Draft at HopsScotch, 10/5/12

Aroma: There's a bunch of spices, particularly cinnamon, and some malts on the nose
Appearance: This one pours a clear dark orange color, with a small head and light lace
Flavor: It has a flavor similar to nose, it is light sweet, with spice, and some mild bitterness
Palate: It has a light body and it is a touch watery, with an average carbonation, and a lightly dry finish
Overall Impression: This one was a decent beer, it isn't a top of style offering, but it isn't terrible. Nothing about it really stands out.

Bottle. Pours a clear golden copper with a decent head that dies quickly. Aromas are autumn leaves with little else. Odd... Maybe a slight whiff of spice, but that could be my mind playing tricks. Flavor is an odd mix of a deep amber ale mixed with pie spices that seem to have something a little off with them. Not quite a medicinal edge, but it ain’t quite right...

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark caramel color with a large foamy tan head that faded and left good lacing. The aroma was tangy and semi-sweet nutmeg and clove. The flavor was tangy and somewhat bitter nutmeg, clove and cinnamon. Long finish that turns dry with nutmeg and cinnamon lingering. Medium body. Ok.

Nice slightly hazy bronze tinted copper and amber body with a thin, fast-dying off-white head. Aroma of spices, nutmeg, cinnamon, caramel, malt, toffee and a touch of clove and yeast - very nice and fragrant. Medium-bodied; Dense, heavy mouthful with a lot of spices and a good dose of pumpkin and squash. Some toffee and nuttiness on the back end with a definite show of spice and sweetness. Aftertaste is a bit one-dimensional with the squash and spice flavours (predominately nutmeg) coming through. Overall, a nice pumpkin beer and definitely one of the better ones I’ve had - still not amazing and worth drinking all fall long, but this is a good one and should be sampled if you can find it! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from the Lebanese Taverna Market in Arlington, Virginia on 02-October-2011 for US$1.99 sampled at home in Washington on 23-October-2011.

Pours cloudy brownish orange color with off white head. Aromas of cinnamon, nutmeg and graham crackers. Tasted like pumpkin pie with some Robitussin mixed in. Medum body with moderate carbonation. Not one of the better pumpkin beers.

A golden amber ale with a thick creamy light mocha head. In aroma, a nice perfumey malt with light pot pourri, ginger and savoury herbs. In mouth, a nice herbal malt with earthy notes, ginger, cloves, all nice and well balanced, light mineral finale. On tap at Meadhall, Oct. 10 2011.
