Bayern Amber is the beer that started it all in 1987. The beer that put Bayern on the map and had customers asking for more. This Marzen style beer has the rich malt flavor you look for in traditional German beers with a smooth balance of hops on the end. The customers quickly referred to it as “Amber Vision”. So get your beer goggles on with Bayern Amber Lager.

12 ounce bottle, no dating.

Pours a clear copper with a good head of foam, excellent lacing.

Caramel malt, grain, light hoppy aromas.

The taste is sweet up front with some toasted malt, bit of a hop bite in the finish. Pretty balanced and enjoyable as it has a good mouthfeel.

12oz bottle pours clear copper with thin re-generative white head. The aroma is kind of malty, caramel-y and faintly roasty as well as sort of sugar sweet lagery. The taste is similar with modest levels of roasty malts and sweet sugar malt infused lagery yeastiness. This has a nice play between the modest roasted malts, sweet malts and a lager floral hop sensation. Nice.

Drank 3/19/11. Thanks to Brenn79 for this. "Best by Jan. 2011." 12 oz bottle into lager glass. Pours a hazy cantaloupe hue with minimal head. Smells of stale grain and caramel malt. Taste is sweet and salty; has a faint hoppy bite in the finish. Highly carbonated and light-bodied. Very bland.

Aroma of grassy hop and medium malt. Light amber color, with a white head that quickly departed. Starts lightly sweet, develops medium mouthfeel as the carbonation leaves, gets a bit sweeter, then finally develops a little hop in the finish. Sort of a maltier version of Bayern Pilsener

Bottle: Lighter amber color is transparent with a very minute white head, no lacing. Aroma is light hops and lagerish malt. Taste is mild malt, grassey, and hints of hops. Watered down a bit? Not very impressive.
