This was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a hazy copper to burnt orange color. A slim white foamy head wrapped around the top of the glass. A moderate sticky foamy lacing clings nicely around the glass.
The smell starts off with some sweet apples and sour apples. A nice bready/yeastiness slides in to balance. There is some light citrusy notes to this as well.
The taste was moderately sweet with a dried spicy connotation to it which ends up reminiscing in the aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation runs light. Once again, its pretty dry on my tongue.
Overall, not a bad saison, but I haven’t had Southern styled crawfish in years, so I wouldn’t know how well, this really would pair. By itself, I might have this again.
nd citrus notes.

Taste it lemony and peppery. Perhaps I might say extra peppery. Very nice. Its very hoppy, but only slightly bitter. The peppery is very bold and very good, but anything else hides behind it.

Mouthfeel is dry. It feels heavier than it really is. It finishes very clean, but a touch bitter.

Overall this is excellent. I wish I had some craws to go with this. But this really would go well with them. I was a little afraid of the label, I thought maybe it was actually brewed with crawfish. I was wrong. I hope I can find this again.

Draught. Hazy golden yellow with small creamy whitish head, faint citus aroma, high carbonation, slightly sour taste with orange peel flavor, longish finish with slightly bitter aftertaste. Nice brew.

I’ve tried a lobster ale, why not a crawfish saison? Hazy bright golden color, medium white head. Nice aroma of crusty bread, mixed spice. Taste has fresh hay, light spice, dusty pepper. Very nice.

650 ml bottle purchased at Carls Meat Market, Kittery for $5.99, decent buy. Hazy orange amber type color displaying thin head in the snifter. Aroma is peppery yeast, bready yeast and straw.

Damn ! That is some peppery yeast, snap! (hello 1994 with that comment) Flavor has a big yeast display with secondary flavors of straw and dusty wheat and very faint citrus notes. The texture of this saison is chewy yeast with a mild bread feel. It also has a drying affect on my tongue. I can see this would go great with some spicy Cajun food. Could go well with many different seafood dishes. I enjoyed this, above average.

Draft - Citrus, light grass and some berries. Clear gold with a thin white head. Fruit esters, grassy bitterness and a yeasty finish. I actually like this quite a bit, sweetness and bitterness well balanced.

New Beer Distributors, NY 650ml ($7): Pours orange with foamy white head. Aroma is citrus, saison yeast, a bit of light spice. Taste is slightly bitter throughout all the way through the finish. Slightly sweet. Not an overly light body. Not bad, but meh.
