India Black Ale (IBA) je mladi stil piva, ki se je najprej pojavil v ameriških domačih varilnicah (home brewed), njegove lastnosti pa so določili in izpilili pivovarji craft pivovarn. V osnovi je to ameriška različica Pale Ala s poudarjenim značajem temnega praženega slada, a brez značilne ostrine skoraj do oglja praženih zrn ječmena, kot je to značilno za stil Stout. Poudarek je na srednje lahkem telesu z nežnimi niansami okusov in vonjav popečenega kruha, kave in temne čokolade, ki se mešajo z okusi tropskega sadja in citrusov ameriških sort hmelja,
V pivovarni Tektonik smo zvarili Nelsona z dodatkom praženega biskvitnega in temnega karamelnega slada. Značilno ogleno barvo je prispeval oluščeni in zelo temno praženi ječmenov slad, ki pa nam je ravno zaradi odstranjenih luščin prihranil rezko ostrino. Kot se za ta stil spodobi, je izdatno suho hmeljenje v posodah za zorenje (dry hopping), še dodatno izoblikovalo polno in svežo aromo tropskega sadja.
V pivovarni Tektonik smo zvarili Nelsona z dodatkom praženega biskvitnega in temnega karamelnega slada. 0,33 l bottle. Pours dark brown, lightly reddish with big beige lasting head. Aroma of toasted malt, some light caramel with nice citrus, fruity and light spicy hop tones. Taste is light sweet, medium bitter. Body is medium, texture slick and carbonation lively. Finish is long, hop notes are followed by mellow, but firm bitterness. Notes of roast malt linger for a long time. Very nice.

0.33 l bottle at the Foculus pizzeria, Ljubljana. Dark brown, creamy lasting beige head. Medium to heavily hopped, fruity, herbal, leaves, roasty, caramel. Bitter and roasty, dry. Medium to full body. Medium carbonation. Beautiful hoppy finish, lasting.

Draft @ Pivo & Burger Fest Oct’16, Ljubljana. Brune foncée, col beige. Arôme malté, grillé, fruité noir avec un malt restant bien sur le dominant. Palais est malté, grillé, pointe de chocolaté, sur effervescence qui mord le palais. Fruité noir rappelant les cerises et la figue. Le tout sur une sensation de picotement sur la langue venant du fruit? Houblonné amer est là avec un fini tirant légèrement sur le chocolaté et grillé.

Bottle shared at Danish Ratebeer Gathering Ulfborg 2016, Day 1. Very hazy brown with a cream head. Aroma of grassy hops, resin, light caramel and malt. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with light carbonation. [19-08-2016]

0,33l bottle at home bought at Pivarna, Maribor. BB 08.04.2017. dark brown color, small tan head. smells of bread, some currant notes, roasty, earthy, berry notes, peppery. overall nice smell. medium to full body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes earthy, roasty, peppery, light bread, bit soapy, licorice, hints of berries. finishes lightly earthy bitter and lightly roasty with notes of spices, licorice and some bread. rather good one, taste is a bit too bread and I am missing some hops but overall nice enjoyable beer.

[ As Tektonik Nelson India Black Ale ].Clear dark red brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to light beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, moderate roasted, moderate to light heavy hoppy, citrus, flowers, fruity hops, light licorice. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, flowers, wod, dark malt, sweet malt. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20160819]
