Inky blackberries prowl in the shadows of a dark, roasty Imperial IPA dream shaded with evergreen hops and glints of citrus. Nuances of cocoa and coffee notes ripple in the gloaming underpinning the fleeting moments of lightness.

473ml can. Vastactiv tasting. Thx Arde.
Poured deep brown in color.
Caramel nose, toffee, muscovado notes. Balanced. Light roastedness. Maybe on the sweeter side.

Pounder 2$ can from chalet. Pour is large, black and in charge; nice foamy tan head lasts for a while. Nose is, yes of course, some IPA hops but there is also this rich toasted olfactory effect in there as well. Holy moley, first taste is also large and in charge, and yes again, some IPA hop bitterness in there, but thankfully this is much more than an IPA. Its triggering the dark beer heavy stouty porter taste buds. Getting that old damp partially burned campfire attitude in there, and that really helps me to be distracted from the fact this is actually some kind of IPA. Fer-sher, the dark beer aspects really takes over in this one. In the middle I think I'm dreaming of a well mannered almost imperial stout? Even is more civilized than a poorly made baltic porter! Just curious what aging would do for this if it was in a bottle. For a pounder can of IPA, I had no trouble living with this rascal. On the finish this is masked as a dark almost robust stout. Low on the pine tar, green grapefruit rind rude ass bitterness scale but comes with presentable notes of dark roasted stout baker's chocolate, coffee, and cocoa from what seems to be dark roasty malts. Easy peezy, there, you have it.

473ml can. Pours a clear dark brown, almost black with a large, frothy, long lasting, beige head that leaves sticky curtains of soapy lace. Sweet aroma of chocolate malt, blackberry, blueberry, grapefruit and coffee. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, grapefruit, blackberry, blueberry, cocoa, coffee and piney hops in a dry, mild bitter finish. Medium body with a smooth, oily texture and average carbonation.

A clean, dark brown colour with copper-caramel highlights, a big frothy warm-beige head, good retention and full creamy lacing. Fresh blackberries-blueberries over the roasted malt base and well-blended grassy hops. The black IPA comes out more in the taste, with the berries being subtle in the background - so not too sweet or fruity. A silky mouthfeel with good slow-building dryness. A nice light bitterness with the fruits linger. Quite a good Black IPA with a little twist, expected from this brewery - and well-brewed all-around.

A dark reddish brown ipa with a thin mocha head. In aroma, sweet chocolate malt with resinous piney hops, light mineral notes, grapefruit pulp, pleasant. In mouth, a nice chocolate malt with resinous piney hops, light fudge, pleasant. On tap at Craft Beer Market Ottawa

This dark IPA poured a deep black colour with a creamy, light brown head. Nice lacing. Scents include nuts, wee bit of black cherries, roasted malt and toast. First swig was pretty good in the flavour dept. Berry forward with flavours of roasted malts, blackberries, coffee and hops. Finish is a little bitter with roasted malt and berry combo lingering.
