American brown ale brewed on the Union Set, built on a complex and intriguing malt bill, giving the beer its inviting colour and rich, full body. Classic US West Coast hops layer in pine and citrus, working in harmony throughout to create a balanced, characterful beer. Hops: Centennial, Simcoe, Cascade and Chinook. Collaboration with Track.

Can picked up from Beyond Beer webshop Hamburg and consumed at home cooking nduja meatballs in a rich tomato sauce in the wood oven, after a day of gardening, it's been a very warm day it was up to 25c earlier but now 16c and dropping. Pours dark chestnut brown with a ruby hue, good clarity. Malty on the nose with some chocolate. In the mouth, quite tangy, fruity, soft mouthfeel. Hoppiness coming through, light/middle bitterness, good. Score: 7.1

Cask at Hops, Crewe. Pours a very dark ruby with a medium sized foamy cream head and good lacing. Berry fruits to the fore in the aroma, plus cola and toffee. In the mouth it is quite bitter with a deep creamy texture. Flavour has floral hops, citrus, berries and some underlying malts. Hints of nuts and marmalade come through later leading to a decidedly dry and tangy finish. This is decent – an unusual combination of flavours and the expected Union depth.
